This camera is one of the best investments we've ever made. Highly recommended
Get the Sigma SD14 for $429 from Cameta (here in the hot deals forum right now), much better camera overall for the same $$$. This is the most stripped down Nikon, I'd spend a few bucks more and get a camera with the AF motor built in (e.g. like all Canons).

Bzzzt, wrong!!! Canon bodies do not have an AF motor in the body, it is all in the lenses.... just like the Nikon D40, D40x, D60. Pretty transparent attempt to promote a certain brand, too bad the argument does not hold.
I don't think any camera body has AF motor. What's a funny idea! I guess he means anti-shaking motor.
