Is it possible to combine with CPP and get a deeper discount?

Even at $399 this is not hot with a 3 cell battery, 512mb of memory, and a 80gb hard drive. They also charge $19.95 shipping and (in my case) nearly $40 in sales tax - so not hot at all.

The competition is now, or will soon sell a 6 cell, 1gb, 120gb or 160gb netbook for $400 delivered or maybe less.

I like the looks of the S10, but Len0vo needs to bring out the 1gb / 6 cell model now before everyone buys a netbook elsewhere.

I dont think you get it...people DONT want 6-cell as it sticks out the back making the unit bulky.

I think his point was for that price you get more memory, more hard drive space, and yes a 6-cell battery that sticks out the back but provides alot more computing time.

With WiFi on these 3 cell netbooks get less than 3 hours on a battery charge, some closer to 2 hours. Yes, something smaller and lighter is better - but a featherweight that does not last long on a charge is of a lot less interest to most folks. Add in that the S10 only includes 512mb of memory (not enough to do much in XP) and a small (compared to the competition) hard drive and this is not a good deal. Yes, you can add more memory and put in a larger hard drive down the road, but you are paying more for less NOW than if you look at the other netbooks.

I think YOU don't get it. People don't want to hear your condesending rants, misinformation and general obnoxious replies.

Asus 1000H is currently the "best bang for the buck"

How the mighty have fallen. An Acer is being directly compared to an ex-Thinkpad.

I don't think so, Tim (or Ted) .

The Acer is $400 delivered for 1gb, 160gb, and 6 cell. The Asus is $480 delivered for 1gb, 160gb, and 6 cell. $80 more is a lot of buck for little more "bang".

Still thinking either Acer Aspire One ($400) or Asus EEE 100HA ($429).

Advantages:
Acer AO - Weight/Size
Asus EEE 1000HA - Screen/Upgradability (Memory/Harddrive)

..all I need now is some ca$h..

The ha is not out yet and the One can be hard to find (for a good price), so you have time to gather the funds . The HA does seem like a pretty sweet deal, the question is do you want the little bit extra screen at the expense of the size and weight and $30 more? With both coming with 160gb hard drives I don't see the hard drive upgrade as being a biggie. 1gb is fine for surfing and most other stuff under XP. The One can only go to 1.5gb and the upgrade is a hassle.

The good news is that while you wait the choices will get better and the prices lower.
