is this refurbished? because there is another one of the same model on Buy.com with a price of $699, and stated Brand New.

Is it even worth having 1080p at this size?

I have this TV - terrific picture but poor sound. If you are connecting to a home theater or receiver sound will not be an issue. If you are looking for full, rich, sound from the TV itself you may want to pass on this one.

computer monitor/gaming

definitely

And fyi it is worth having 1080p at ANY size if you are using 1080i/p sources. 1080 is not an even multiple of 768 so why not avoid the scaling errors and jaggy's.

If it is refurbed shouldnt it say so??

Since this one ($599) has a "cannot be returned to Buy.com" notation, I suspect it is a refurb. If I thought it was new - I would jump on it.

Is it still worth it if its refurbished?

If you buy the warranty for $99, it makes it cost the same as the "new" one. I put this in quotes because it doesn't say anywhere that it is a refurb, it is possible the return policy is different because it is a different batch of new TVs. Perhaps a drop ship inventory vs. in stock inventory.

Does the $799 "new" tv come with a 3 year warranty? If not, go for the $699 and if the warranty is worth it to you, slap on 3 years!
