The best in-ear earphones money can buy. The Shure ES530pth are the best in-ear earphones money can buy. I'll let you do the google search to read all the reviews. I've never seen any audio product receive such unanimous reviews as to these being the best.
Listed below is the link to TTVJ (Todd the Vinyl Junkie) this is an authorized dealer of the headphones, this is important as you will receive the full 2 year warranty, whereas if they are bought from anyone who is not an authorized dealer, your warranty will not be honored.

Although the link shows $499 for the SE530 with the pth option, if you call Todd, he'll sell them to you for $359.00. Shure sells these on their site for $549.00 Best price on Amazon is $449.00, Amazon itself sells them for $499.00. eBay has them for $309.00 but who knows if they are old stock or not, and you get no warranty.
I did quite a bit of research on these prior to buying. Furthermore, I looked all over creation for the best price. The link above seems to be the best price. I just thought I would pass on the information to anyone whose been looking at these or for something similar
they are also $349.97 at 6Ave.com with the AFLSHURE coupon

For this price, you might as well buy an iPod. And it comes with headphones. How good do you need the headphones to be when you're listening to compressed audio?

Unless they protected your hearing using some cool new technology I can't see spending so much. Under what circumstances is the sound difference most distinctive? I'm guessing it is the bass. I'm wondering if you really want increased bass output so close to your drum.
I travel a lot and these are the best I have experienced when it comes to listening to music or watch a movie in flight. A lot easier to carry as well compared to any noise canceling unit.

I agree that these are overpriced for (to me) unknown earphones, but good earphones do sound a lot better than cheap ones. In ear monitors are great because they block out external noise, allowing you to hear more of your music w/o having to turn it up. Plus a lot of IEM's are reputed to have very accurate sound, if that's what you're after. A custom mold is supposed to fit very comfortably and block out noise the best. And for some IEM's, the best is lacking since they use such small drivers, so extra bass is a needed boost. It's so close to your ear, but it's also tons smaller and a lot less power than normal headphones. All ends up being equal in the end.
I'd love to get a nice set of IEM's with custom molds. However, I still probably wouldn't spend this much and definitely not for a company I'd never heard of with a poor-looking website.

They are available for $279.99 the deal spot I am wearing them right now. They are the best in-ear buds I've tried. Still looking bass that's as good as over the ear headphones. (these are not the PTH or push to hear version, otherwise the same sound)

Oh man, I think I got my wires crossed and confused this thread with another IEM thread I was subscribed to. Yes, shures are great (I got etymotics, but going again I probably would've gone for shure now). Sorry for the confusion.
