Been looking at treadmills and elliptical trainers for a while and this is a pretty good deal. It was rated a "best buy" by consumer reports and has pretty good reviews on Amazon.com.
I bought this when it was $399 back in April. It's a pain to put together but my wife and I have used it just about every day and it's held up well. Definitely worth $400. Not sure if it's worth $500 as I haven't compared prices of other brands comparibly priced. There were some reviews from people who had said certain parts would eventually break because in their opinion they were engineered too weak to handle stress. I put this together myself and I see no such weaknesses.
I've always liked Schwinn products. They really are made well and for a good price. My only beef with this machine is why don't they put the heart rate sensors on the moveable arms instead of the stationary ones.
$500 shipped with no tax is not a bad deal. I may put this in my cart though and keep checking for the $399 price!
