Rejoice! Us old Sprint SERO customers (with 22 months in contract or longer) can upgrade our Treos to 800w for the same price as new subscribers!
1. First go here: Link to FW post 2. Then click on 'Phones', then click on 'Upgrade your phone' 3. After that just follow the steps.
For me in my 22 months, I can get a Treo 800w for 249.99 (599.9 - 250 instant savings - 100 MIR). That's exactly the same price as new subscriber!
I'm not sure if it only applies to SERO customers or any Sprint customers. I'm also not sure if it applies to all phones (didn't check the list one by one). I just want a 800w. Or Touch Diamond. Or 800w since it has keyboard. Or maybe Diamond is better since it's more stylish. Or... hmmm... decision, decision...
FYI my friend told me he went to some Sprint stores in Montebello Mall and Santa Anita Mall (CA) and they have this exact offer. He got one for the same price, so maybe this option is better compared to waiting for the web order to be shipped.
Can somebody clarify what "22 months in contract" means? 22 months left until your contract expires, or you are 22 months into a 24 month concert (2 months left)?

I was able to get the Treo 800W for free................I got lucky. I had them pricematch BB price of $199.(Sprint Store) As you know BB price didn't include a rebate. For the heck of it I also submitted the rebate. It was supposed to be for $100...............but a check came for $200 I have Sero.

This really isn't anything new. I did this a couple weeks ago and they sent me someone elses phone. It was already activated on someone elses account. Instead of switching it the made me send it back and sent me another one. kind of stupid, it just cost them more money.

Maybe I'm blind, but where is the link to click on "Phones"?
You're not blind, but you may benefit from a bit of self-reliance. You need to follow the link in the topic linked by the OP.
I think this is SOP (standard operating procedure) now. I upgraded to the HTC Touch Diamond last Wednesday. I was in my 24th month of my contract, and I called up Sprint to check on my eligibility for upgrade and asked whether I could get the same deal as new subscribers for some phones that I saw in the store. The rep said that now, if you are doing the 2 year contract renewal after your 22nd month in, you get the same deal as new subscribers, including all mail-in offers (i.e. rebates). The rep at the store where I bought my Diamond said the same thing. Maybe some reps are still trying to stiff some customers, so I think if you call them and ask them for it, you can get the same deal as new subscribers.

When was this? IIRC, even as a new subscriber > 22mo, we didn't pay more than ~$100 after all the rebates on the Treo, so $250 isn't very appealling. However, updating the phone would be a welcome change.
LoveRebates, you're not attempting to get a Blackberry are you? Select a Palm or WinMo phone and you'll be fine.
Just 5 more days until Touch Pro. I guess I should head over to a Sprint store and try out the Diamond first to see if the OSK is worth a damn - but the landscape friendly mode of the Pro is much more ideal.

I got on the Sero plan just before it ended.(3 months ago)I first got a 755P but exchanged it for the 800W when it came out...................so price was going to be $249 after a $100 rebate.I went to a Sprint store 2 weeks later to see if they could price adjust it to BB's price of $199.He gave me a $150 credit. For the heck of it,I sent in the rebate.Instead of them sending me a $100 check it was $200.............so phone was free for me. I haven'yt heard of anyone getting it for less than I .

I like the idea of being able to upgrade near the end of the contract. Thanks OP.
Yes. Just make sure you told them you want to keep everything the same. Also, doublecheck the rep's work before he submits the renewal.
Doublecheck and Triple Check before they do anything. I use to get 1250 anytime minutes, unlimited n/w after 6pm, Vision pack, Unlimited text for $36 a month all taxes included. After they issue me a new phone w/ renewal they took away all my discounts and perks. Now I'm stuck w/ only 500 anytime minutes for $36 a month. Sprint reps can't be trusted.
Hi Jax No I was trying to get the instinct. And the rep said I cannot choose any PDA phone if I want to stick with my plan.

So, if I have a Centro, and I simply want to upgrade to a new Centro, since that is a PDA phone, will it cancel my old plan (500 min, unlimited text/internet for $15 a month)?
