Pretty darned good deal on a nice HTPC, considering a Q6600 alone easily goes for $140 used : Gateway GM5485E
$399.99 with free shipping, $384.99 after applying the usual 5% off coupon (max $15 off) Ignore the upper specs. Called the Buy.com CS and they confirmed that it is a quad-core system. Monitor is NOT included. Credit to AT.
Some people are apparently saying that you could get 9% Live CashBack on this deal, which would make it sizzling! Also don't forget to use your Buy.com VISA if you have one (3% CashBack).
mattcube64 said: Will this support a 4850 or 8800? Don't see why not, as long as the power supply is up to it (which I don't know). From the Gateway pics though, it looks to be a standard ATX PSU, so the worst that can happen is that I'll have to pop in one of those $5/FAR Ultras that are sitting in my garage

Does this have an HDMI output?

Buy.com sent me the wrong system. "Buy.com Free Upgrade" sticker on the side of the box. The problem is the "upgrade" is just a wireless mouse/keyboard. The unmentioned "downgrade" is the operating system is 32 bit, and I already bought an additional 4gb RAM to add to the 2gb that comes installed. Guess I'll be sending it back. Now I have to find a system that will accept my RAM. What a waste of time!
200+ replies to this deal over at SD and everyone has some sort of problem with their shipments.
