SVTour98 said:They also have the Buffalo HS-DH500GL for $79.00.I give up, what's the diff between the "Linkstation Live" (HS-DH500GL) and the "Linkstation Pro" (LS-500GL) ?? Specs look identical (AFAIK), googling them up & down the net doesn't reveal much. |

If you try again it will show $69, I just tried it. What eCost does is sell a certain number for a certain time at a certain price, then price goes up... then they reset the number and do it again and again if an item is selling really well. The "shady" part there is no different than a tv commercial saying "but if you call in the next 10 minutes you'll also get the ..." Price going up when you add it to your cart means that one of those "supplies are limited" things happened between when you opened the item and when you added it to your cart. Please view this as an observation of what is happening NOT a defense of eCost's tactics. Also... does 3.99 really spoil the deal? xjqian said:was going to pull the trigger. but the price just went up to $72.99. Typical shady eC@st. pass..

I am new in this technology.... How do you guys are planning to use this? are you buying it for home / work? Can I use it as storage for Oracle data files? I am just looking for a test instance, is it possible as NAS server for storing data files for Oracle RAC (like netapp, emc)? Just checked the comparison chart and LinkStation live looks better for another $10, they have DLNA, print server etc....the only missing feature is active directory support...I dont know what is it though. Your input is greatly appreciated. |

Don't know what you mean... how would it be different than returning it to buffalo tech since it's refurbished? Mines coming on tuesday. I'll tell you if it's dead on arrival otherwise I will probably be happy with the purchase. |
