Picked up 2 wireless-n network cards and a free after rebate powered usb 2.0 hub and it only added $3.25 to the shipping. Many platinum and gold credit cards will double the warranty up to an additional year.

Guys, you might want to consider the 250GB one for $44 if you are planning to swap out the HDD anyways. Do you guys know how big a drive i can put in this thing? |

looks like the live is also a print server also the 'live' has web access, a nice feature when a desire is to grab files away from home. |

The live for $79 or the 250gb for $44 are still in stock and I think you can put up to a 750gb..least that is the max size listed on http://buffalo.nas-central.org/index.php/Category:LSPro (uses Sata drives so size really shouldn't be an issue) |

Agreed - I went for the "live" for the web access. ifishcat said:g2k6l0 said:chilifries said:peas said:I give up, what's the diff between the "Linkstation Live" (HS-DH500GL) and the "Linkstation Pro" (LS-500GL) ?? Can someone educate me on the web access feature? What is the difference between web access and FTP access? They both advertise "Access the link station anywhere" i assume that if i can go online i can access the link station. Am i wrong? |

I believe the basic difference is simple File Access VS a media rich experience for accessing your photos, videos, and music over the web. |

Thanks OK - bought 3 that should be here tomorrow. One of them will be backing some Server 2008 Clusters in my cube at work as the shared storage presented via iSCSI...dunno about the other two. Does anyone know what brand the drives inside them are? I'm torn on if I'm going to gut them and put bigger drives in or leave as-is. Thanks! |
