WHen shooting 00 Buckshot you're sending 9 .32 caliber pellets faster than the speed of sound with each pull of the trigger...much better for eliminating home invaders
Where do I find these shotguns at such low prices? WalMart or Dick's sporting goods. Dick's has the Remington 870 on sale right now with both the regular and deer slug barrels for 240 or so after rebate. If you're really pressed for something cheap buy a Rossi combo from Dick's...it is a single shot in .410 or .22 LR depending upon which barrel you put on, but one shot from even a .410 shotgun is all you need. Point and shoot... |

Honestly?...I would rethink your position. I don't want a temporarily disabled intruder in my home. If he wants to run away great, but if he keeps coming, I don't want to "immobilize" him. I know I'm not going to trust the lives of my family to a one shot hope of "immobilization".
It's called, "You tie the guy up, whack him a couple times, then call the cops."
Is that your final answer? What about the second guy? Look, we can play hypotheticals all day long. What if there are three guys? I'm sorry, one gun will incapacitate one, maybe two if you're both a fast and accurate shooter. If there are three in the dark, you chances are QUITE high that one of them will pick you off and then your family. |

This is a great gift for a daughter in college, business trips, your local street walker, those of us who like to walk through dark alleys, or just something to keep in your glovebox. |

Anyone have a recommendation??

Another way to look at it...Imagine a guy with a handgun breaks into your home. He has 10+ shots of lethality from a (pick a handgun). He may have a partner with another gun. You're holding a one shot taser and hear the glass break. How do you feel? Get 5 of them, one for each family member. Shoot each attacker and then shoot them again after they are down. Tie them up. Then sit in the living room with the soundtrack to batman playing until the police arrive. |

Then they can go tell JeffC (above) why they are doing it when he 'communicates' with them when they rob his house next.

First, are you saying you would rather have a taser instead of a gun against 3 armed individuals? Second, I can't remember ever hearing about a trio breaking into houses in the middle of the night. Pairs are common, but trios? Anyway, defending ground is much easier than taking it. It's basic nature for attackers to flee when confronted. Many times just an alarm going off is going to send them running. IF an alarm doesn't send them running, MY personal preference is NOT a single shot taser. I don't care if it's 5 X-military, and I have no hope of surviving. I still choose a gun to defend my home over a taser and rope. I can get to a gun easier/quicker than I can get to rope in my house. |
