Citi Airline Rewards Card's Bonus Point Offer - Enough For A Roundtrip Ticket!

Any Airline, Anytime, No Blackout Dates!

Citi is running a deal that makes air travel a lot less painful. The Citi PremierPass Card – Elite Level lets you redeem a roundtrip ticket worth up to $400 after you spend $600 within three months of opening your account. You can travel whenever you want since the bonus points don't expire as long as you make a purchase with your card once every 3 calendar years. You can even choose your own airline, which is a lot more convenient than programs for many other travel cards. And Citi doesn't blackout dates so you can actually travel when you want! The limited time offer gives you 20,000 bonus points after $600 in purchases made within 3 months of account opening – you can use the bonus points to redeem your first ticket for as much as a $400 roundtrip fare. For those of you who have checked out other airline cards recently, you'll agree this is a pretty generous offer!

All these asterisks by the features refer to ???

    My guess is something like:
    # Earn 2 points for every dollar spent on everyday purchases and 1 point for all other purchases*
    * for the first three months of card use
    # Earn 1 point for every mile you fly on any airline*
    * Any airlines include Delta and Horizon only

There can't just be the one $75 annual fee catch that isn't mentioned...

I've had this card for over a year now.

The points are earned on any airline.

Double points isn't limited to time period, only by category. I know it includes commuter transportation (I have my CTA card linked to it) and parking lots (Not sure if its all parking lots, but I know its double points at the airport lot. Though I can't imagine it seperates airport lots form others).

I think there are better sign-up bonuses available. I got 25,000 points when I opened my account last year.

I don't like annual fees, and this is in fact the only card I have with an annual fee. But after the initial sign up bonus I figured that I made that back with the points. Couple that with the points on my two tickets to Mexico (which were purchased through Expedia and still received the points) I decided to keep the Elite card for another year, as opposed to changing over to the basic card.
