Like I said, if you want to get a Touch Pro without having to change your plan, then your best chance is to get it before Sprint officially has them on Nov 2. |

I'm sad that none of the BBs within 200miles of me carry Sprint phones. By the time, they will have Sprint phones for the holidays, the coupon will have expired. |

Just to add my $.02, I'm on the SERO plan. SNAP didn't recognize it as a normal account, but a business account (additional 25% off w/ my company that I received after signing up for SERO). I had to call retentions to get my account flagged. Once that was completed, the BB rep called to manually activate my new 24 mo agreement. Smooth sailing after that. I went from a 6700 to the Touch Pro. LOVE IT! |

scoobydooby said:LightWallet said:Nobody is saying that is the new policy for all new smartphones. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember seeing somewhere that the Pro requires an Everything type plan or a $25+ data plan. That is a similar requirement to the Instinct.
Given the experiences in this thread, I'd say that there is a pretty decent chance you can get away without any updates to your data plan. The "official" Sprint price is $299 after $100 MIR and the requirement for a >$25 data plan or everything plan. But Bestbuy clearly did not get that memo. How long that'll last is anyones guess. The Instinct was definitely different. BB signed an exclusivity contract for it and the data plan was one of the requirements of the contract. No such issue with the Pro, although, given the underestimated demand for it, you may see BB Mobile push hard in that direction. As with anything in this much demand, get it ASAP before the rules change. EDIT: Get it ASAP if you're already in the market for it, that is. |

I had recently renewed my contract but didn't upgrade my phone. I was told that I'd have up to 90 days to do so to receive the credit. What do you guys think my chances are for picking up this phone at the 299 price? |

BB has some margin on the phones, but thier real money comes in by selling contracts for Sprint. If you already extended, they wouldn't have much motivation. good luck, though. I've seen stranger things happen. |

I have SERO 1250 plan with 21% corporate discount. They had to call Sprint and do a handwritten 2 year upgrade contract becuase their computer system (SNAP) wouldnt recognize my account. They applied the coupon and Sprint activated phone within minutes. Phone is unbelievable!!! 240+tax Great deal!!! |

Were they able to transfer your data (contacts etc) from the 6700 to the Pro? They couldn't do it for me at the one store I went to. |

I managed to get the Pro tonight by signing up for the reward zone program at bestbuy.com and then printing the coupon. I am typing on it right now. It is pretty cool. Not as polished as my wife's iPhone, but pretty good. The screen and keyboard are a bit cramped compared to the iPhone, but better than my previous flip phone. The phone is officially supposed to be released tomorrow. The BB mobile sales lady had to call to confirm it was okay to sell. Also, neither she nor her manager nor an agent for the RewardZone program could find the official program detail for the 20% off offer. It took about 30 minutes of calls and manager approvals to sort that out. I was able to get the phone as an upgrade phone, and keep my contract -- basically the same as the everything plan, but with 1000 minutes, for $70 for two linea (the second line is non-data). Not as sweet a deal as SERO, but not bad. I will test this with my work email. If it works as it is supposed to, this will be a keeper! |

good luck, though. I've seen stranger things happen.Wrong. The upgrade eligibility goes by how long you've had your handset. If you renewed your contract but didn't upgrade, then you still qualify for an upgrade (assuming you already qualified at the time). What you need to do is just check your upgrade eligibility here: Sprint New For You Upgrade Program Upgrading renews your contract but just renewing your contract doesn't mean you no longer qualify for an upgrade. They are related but not the same. |

drainu182, let's say you renewed your contract 60 days or 2 months ago. Assuming you qualify for an upgrade and you do, your contract will simply extend out another 2 months to make it a full 2 years. That's all it is. |

The contacts will transfer over automatically but data files you will have to do a drag and drop to the folders once you establish a relationship. You'll lose the text msgs as those cannot be saved and thus do not transfer over. |

btw, bestbuy has sent out an email saying that some 20% off smartphone coupons didn't have any barcodes on them so they were instructed to just take it off the price of the phone. Also data packages are only required when the carrier specifies it. IE right now it's only on the instint, g1, and iphone. |

OMG it also works for GSM networks??? yummy so it has Internal GPS antenna --does this mean i don't have to use my bluetooth GPS receiver anymore in order to use the tomtom software? i was planning on transferring to T-Mobile so i can take advantage of the T-Mobile@home phone service, but i guess not anymore |

Sprint Website said:Savings Amount Eligibility Date Up to $75 with a two-year subscriber agreement (or up to $25 with a one-year agreement) 07/01/2008 Up to $150 with a two-year subscriber agreement (or up to $75 with a one-year agreement) 05/01/2009 Sprint says I'm eligible for $75 upgrade savings but not $150 until May '09. Does this have any relevance when getting the phone from Best Buy? |

Awesome phone. Went to BB in Milwaukee to get it. Somehow I qualifed for the full rebate even tho I signed up with SERO May '08. The employee wasnt able to process my account thru SNAP because of my business account probably. He called sprint and it was as easy as an ESN swap. No plans, No Hassle. For those who want to get in on the deal, Id write the SKU on the RZ Printout - 9055014. For some odd reason BB didnt put it at the bottom of the 20% off listing. Good luck to all and Thanks OP! |
