Can anyone compare G1 and iPhone?

All the tech nerd web sites have comparisons of the G1 and iPhone. In general, the iPhone has a nicer design, but many people have trouble with the touch screen keyboard and AT&T doesn't work well in some parts of the country. The G1 has a real keyboard that is easier for many people to use, but that makes the whole phone bigger and heavier. T-Mobile also doesn't have great national coverage. The G1 is cheaper to buy and cheaper per month. If you're a computer programmer, the G1 is open source and easier to program.

Any mention of a price for just the phone without contract? I'm on ATT now and would like to get the phone, unlock it, and use my existing service. Would like to compare this option versus buying an unlocked one from eBay with Live CashBack.

Curious to see if people who were quoted $349 directly from T-Mobile who were "mid-contract" are getting the $229 price at Costco. If that's the case, I might upgrade and extend my contract another 2 years. Anyone?

Im on 14th month of 24 month contract. Yesterday bought G1 from Costco for $229 with 2 yr extension from yesterday. You will get a Jabra BT headset and a car charger. You won't get additional carry case from costco. There is one pouch inside the G1 box.
