First it is a big YMMV. A local Toys R Us store had a Family Video Game day today. Long story short, I called and was told it ran until 5:00 PM. I got to the store at 4:25 PM and they were packing up all the equiptment. The representative told me that it only ran until 4:00 PM. He asked what I was interested in trying out. I said the Wii for my 4 year old. He did not set it back up, but said I could have the Demo unit for $199.00. What he told me was that these were new units that morning (Wii Sports), they unpacked 2 units for people to try out, and they were run from 11:00 am to 4:00 PM. He also mentioned that due to the rain, roughly 60 people showed up for the event all day. I thought $199.00 was a good deal since the GameStop units used are that much. The cashier even took my $10.00 off $75.00 coupon which isnt't valid until tomorrow. Got the system home and see that they left the game in it that they were using. Horrible game called DeBlob but my daughter liked it. So if this is a national event, you may want to linger around after the demo is over and scoop up the demo system itself. I only wish it was a PS3 |
