Holy crap! What's with all the threadcrapping today? I don't even think most of the posts here have anything to do with this great deal. |

If you said you could get a USED '03 TL v. a new '04 TL in 2004, you could save 7 to 10K, I think that's right. However, the diff. between the '03 and '04 is probably around 3K as of right now, assuming both cars are in the same condition/mileages/options. |

""""ow. um... wow. it's comparing apples and oranges... mpg is not the TL's strong suit. but it wins out in so many other ways. i really hope ur kidding with this comment.""" Precisely. So please, ask congress to pass a substantial gas tax for those who don't care about MPG's, while there are those who do care. |

If it's not getting great gas mileage, whats the point? Is a smooth ride and extra performance worth an extra $10k? Besides looks and performance, what can this car offer me that I'm not already getting from my corolla? The acura isn't exactly a veyron. Why else would I want to buy a house for? If I have to pay property tax on my house, what's the point? Is insulation and having a toilet worth the extra $500k? Besides a kitchen and a bathroom, what can a house offer me that I'm not already getting from my $20 tent, under the freeway overpass? The house isn't exactly a castle. |

I agree - the 09 acura are ugly compared to 08 and before. But must agree, they look better than any other jap car on the road (though from a distance they all look the same). But then, beauty is different to different eyes. Also i feel its a girly car - attracts a lot of women(professional) drivers - from what i have noticed on the highway. Acura owners, i have heard that the equipment quality is mediocre for the price - like paint starts peeling/knobs start falling - is the build quality not worth the price?Advance thanks for all the help.My wife is interested in one buying one. |

My moms just picked up an 08 Pearl White w/ Navi and the pro package for 31,500 OTD. We also had the option of another Pearl White w/o Navi that was a demo with 4000k miles on it for 129 a month with 22000 down. That was for 60months with the 2.9%. ONE MAJOR THING
After we bought it, the sales men said that Acura is running a competition for this month to sell off the 08's and that they get an additional 100$ per acura they sell. And that it ends the 31st, so use that as leverage as well. |

It's Acura's own damn fault, though. They first hinted about the '09 model showing up around springtime. I was ready to replace my '02 TL-S. Then Acura delayed the intro a couple of times, and had that snotty rep at the Chicago auto show who told one blogger, more or less, "It'll be here when it gets here." Fine, screw you, I says, and bought an '08 Infiniti G35X, which already had all the new stuff that was being promised on the '09 TL. |

Ummm, are you serious? TL gets about 28 highway, max. For 100% highway on my TL, I can get around 32.5 mpg. |

The 08 TL puts the 09 TL to shame. Two steps backwards for Acura on their best seller. |

What other cars look the same and how does it look better then any other 09 luxury car does this look better then? Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infinity, Mitsubishi? I do agree that Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura look similar only because they are from the same manufacture. Most American cars also look the same because they are built on the same platform. But your right about professional women going to Acuras and not sure about build quality. But you should also look into Volvo since it does have a lot of good satfty feature geared towards women. Just look at the climate control, I think i even saw a purse holder. |

Ummm, are you serious? TL gets about 28 highway, max.
My 2002 TL (stock with 156k miles) gets 31MPG consistently per tankful, with mixed driving. [on highway road trips I can get 34MPG, and I can guarantee this moron SDpwnsFW will never get 38+ in real world driving
And after driving all those miles in a TL, I certainly appreciate a quiet, comfortable, smooth ride when comparing it to many of the other Jap or American cars I driven. That's where you're wrong. I never get below 38 mpg. I maxed at 39.6, haven't hit 40 yet. Your real world driving and mine are obviously different. I don't get off by tailgating people and slamming the gas to the floor to gain an extra car length. I don't race to a red light and slam on the brakes. I don't drag when the light turns green. I guess you can say I'm a safe easygoing driver thus allowing my car to obtain a high mpg than advertised. nuff said Real world driving implies what an average person may put on the car. If you're getting 38 MPG with your Corolla, you're not idling in city traffic or going on short trips. With my 2006 Auto-5 TL I get about 15 MPG in city when cold, 21 MPG when at operating temp. On highway I get 25 MPG when cold, and 30-40 when at operating temp. Real world for me gets between 22-30. I got 41.3 MPG driving from Irvine, CA to San Diego once - if you're maxing at 39.6 MPG with a Corolla my TL just PWNED your Corolla.
The fuel efficiency of the TL is something to be compared with others in its class - the more performance oriented Infiniti G and the Lexus IS class, not some econbox Corolla hauling 1K pounds less curb weight. The 2004-2008 TLs are better in almost every manner than a Corolla - at least on paper (as it should be for a vehicle that costs twice as much). My reason for getting the car (despite me being a cheap bastard) was knowing that you can't go and buy a bigger car after they pull your corpse from the car. I drive in SoCal and have made it almost 20 years w/o a major accident (thanks to several defensive driving classes and enough auto-X hours). Sooner or later my luck will run out and somebody will finally test those side curtain airbags on my car. For me that was worth the extra $20K. I can skip eating in restaurants the rest of my life if it means driving in a safer vehicle. Ideally a BMW 3 Series would be more suited for me since I still have pretty decent reflexes but could stand the thought of German repair shops every other month 10 years down the road. The squeaks are the most annoying thing about my 2006 TL (expected better from my Honda/Acura after coming off a surprisingly reliable and quiet Ford Contour). The second is the slow navigation (fixed with the 2007 and onward models with the new 6th gen nav). If you can find a TL at the prices stated here I would suggest a test drive if you're considering an entry level luxury sedan. Veyron it is not. Reliable but mass-produced-cloth-interior-clad Corolla it is not. If the wife and I weren't looking for an Odyssey we would consider getting another TL. |

I just saw Nightline this evening on ABC... they gave an example of 1 car dealership whose credit simply dried up because the bank was no longer willing to lend money to them. I think Nightline estimated that 1,800 dealerships will close due to similar inability to borrow money to buy cars and put them on their lot ... point being, the financial crisis is real and it's hard to predict how manufacturers and dealers will respond... so it is entirely possible for dealerships to compete agressively to tap the shrinking consumer population with cash in hand or excellent credit over 700 |

saw the brand new 2009 TL in the showroom for the first time and loved it. did not at first after looking at photos online, but the actual car is a beauty.
the "start the engine" button is a nice touch too (finally catching up to Lexus on this).
Do you have to touch start button to shutdown the car?
Press the Start/Power On button and hold it for 10 seconds, kind of long, and the engine will be shut off. Hope that works. j/k I hope you got the gist of the question. It was in reference to the chain email (GM and/or Ford vs. Bill Gates ) Read Here How true the 13 has become !!!! |

For 100% highway on my TL, I can get around 32.5 mpg. I second that. If I drive mostly highway (as I do now) 30+ mpg is the standard. I drove from Pasadena to UC Davis on one tank before (~400+ miles). |
