Yes i completely agree to. This is a completely different forum from SD or whatever else. Why do we need to even say this or give them reps, etc. If the same person didnot put it out on FW, then anyone can 'copy' that deal here. And then we don't want the OP at SD to come here and say give me 'thanks' or reps or whatever?

Just called. They say its $30 off of Arcade, $50 off of 20 GB model,and $100 off elite. The 20GB is showing as $249.99($199.99), Arcade $199.99($169.99) and Elite $399.99($299.99). But the FYE is lazy and is keen on keeping deals from peoples hands. I once asked them to ring up a Portable DVD player to verify rebate, after it didnt print, they tried to refuse the refund, saying electronics are non-refundable, even though I told the manager, as he was ringing it up, that I just wanted to see if the rebate printed,and if it didnt I didnt want the Portable DVD player. Maybe its YMMV?

Not guaranteed, but its about a 90% chance it will. Just peek through the hole in the box and verify it was made in 2008. Then its a sure thing.

That's hilarious, I called them this morning and was told what I posted (after seeing it on SD). Then went to the store and bought what I posted. Someone at SD even said it was advertised in the store window (20GB, $150 after $100 rebate)

For one, the deal is nice if you feel like waiting on the MIR, and two, who really cares where these deals come from or who originally posted them and on what site, odds are, all of you people, just like me, sift through all the deals sites looking for the best ones. Visa is the same as cash if used properly -- just use it for everyday purchases like gas or groceries.
I've noticed that the Visa card is the norm these days for more and more rebates. I wonder if it has to do with the amount of cash they need to put behind these offers or the hit they take on their yearly balance sheet when they issue rebates. Anyone know? Accounting makes companies do strange things.

What does this have to do with the issue of the need (or rather lack thereof) to identify the source of the information for deal posts in the Hot Deals forum?

It's not like you copied detailed specs lists, personal evaluations, links to reviews, the manufacturer's website or other/related deals from the original poster on SD (who may very well have copied his or her information from somewhere else, anyway). Unless you think of something that's pretty darn clever and funny, the first words for any deal post title should simply be the product's manufacturer and model name.

Yes Bubba, you are right! That was the reason why i submitted my receipt and was denied! They also told me that my 3 years warranty for PROD is denied too!!! FYE sold me used console as brand new!!!
