Like some members here, got one last year for $250 after $50 Cash Back for misprinted dvd burner. Upgraded to 2gb mem. For intenernet, office work, it's more than fine.

This laptop would really fly if you were to throw Tiny XP onto it, but Vista would be painful (even with more memory). Great price though.

I just ordered one with BB over the phone and the cheapest shipping was $19.99 for a total of $277.23 I hope it goes through !!!!

Kinda weird that I could order it over the phone; but not online or pick up in-store????

oH btw The one that I ordered was the HP - Pavilion - not the Gateway - hopefully this was a wise choice and not a foolish mistake !!!! Model # dv6607 and SKU: 8595308

I'm on the phone now finalizing my order for another gateway AND a HP, the HP is a keeper, the gateway are going to a better home....

Loving this deal....

I tried getting the 360 dollar Sony, but is was sold out completely.... so no go on that...

My other gateway is shipped UPS and will be here wednesday.

just got off the phone with Bestbuy and was able to order the HP-Pavilion TK-53 Laptop dv6607nr and have it shipped free because it was over 199.00. thanks to alzzstar for the heads up on the free shipping link- also had a $50.00 gift card that she let me apply- in at $234.61 shipped to the house via UPS. This was built with XP in the past. Does anyone have a link to roll it back or do you think I might be able to get info on how to do from HP directly? Thanks to all for the information!

I'm thinking about getting extra mem to up it to 3gb, and leave vista on it... memory will only cost about 30 bucks...

just called the about status (did not recieve confirmation email) and they are backordered (one gateway and one HP) but should ship according to her (hard to believe they would on clearance item)

The first one is already shipped...
