I hope this is the new batch. Old batch, the first batch of single-sided Ballistix, is crap |

old double-sided D9GMH can boot at 1.8v with cl5 and can really take 2.4v and OC'ed to insane speed 1st batch of singled sided ballistix, is real crap. die on >2.0v soon even if the spec is 2.2v 2st batch of singled sided ballistix, better than the previous crap but lower down their OC potential and will only take up to 2.0v. old ballistix is really the best, although you have to live with 4GB max in your system with 4 ram slots rigor said:^^ did you run that at or above 2.0V with manual speed voltage & timings set?
these are not meant for oem computers where you can't diddle the timings/voltage right aka not meant for the general public to shove in to their systems. more so for overclockers and those that understand why some ram can be pushed to 2.4V and insane speeds. |

I bought it in-store with the price $49.99. Does local fry's match its online price $42.99? I am using the Dell inspiron 530 and wonder if those 2v ram can work. Baby123 said:I have a Dell PC that uses 1.8 v DDR2 RAM, my question is can I use these 2v RAM,

THANKS not the usual way. If you already picked the original items up, 1- reorder online for in-store pickup for the current 42.99 price 2- bring the receipt from the 49.99 order 3- go to register and pickup the new order 4- go right to the return section and use your 49.99 receipt and return the items you just picked up. It's a pain but you get your $$$ back if it hasn't passed 15 days between orders |

Shouldn't Crucial be bankrupt by now? I remember reading something to that effect. |

I would NOT recommend using this in a Inspiron 530. This is 2x1gb DIMMs |

yah the geil black dragon 4x2gb were 1.8V and all 4 are stable. you might be lucky and pull 1.9V dimms stable on a 530 but not with all four. lol. buy 1.8V dimms for oem machines.. |

Does Fry.com have low price guarantee? I bought when it was $11 after rebate. |

If you did in-store pickup, yes just reorder for another in-store pickup and return it back with old receipt. If you did it online, it seems it's hit or miss (according to a few people who tried getting it price adjusted) just try it anyways. |

Have we gotten a general consensus on what type of chips are on these modules? |

I'm running 2x 1gb ballistix tracer in my 530 with no problems and I think they are technically rated at 2.2 v for full speed. Since the bios scales them back, the lower voltage appears fine. |

The ones rated at 2.2v are the older model, and these are expected to develop faults after running for a while at lower voltage (at least that is what their tech support claims). Mine was tested fine initially, but after using for a while, I started seeing random BSOD's and a second memtest showed faults. |

I don't tend to keep this computer on more than an average of 4 hours/day since July, and aside from my HDTV wonder locking up in media center, I have had no stability issues under vista with my current setup. Your wording was a bit vague, but I assume you mean that these newer modules should encounter fewer problems at lower voltage? For $8 I ordered them either way. |

I have an old build with two sticks of BL2KIT12864AA804 that are 2.2V on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. Anyone know if I can mix with BL2KIT12864AA80A which is rated at 2.0V? The voltage is set automatically in the bios; cpuid seems to show that the mem is running on 2.200 V. |

I don't know if these are any better, but I certainly hope so, as they run at lower voltage and so are cooler. I didn't run the older 2.2v RAM too long, in fact I also don't keep my system on 24/7, but still they went bad. I heard, most RAM that go bad do so with in the first month of using them. |
