I think with the Dual SSID feature you can setup 2 different wireless networks on the same routers, that's a unique feature that i didn't see in any consumer level routers before.

FYI I have yet to find a dual band router that does NOT have dual SSIDs.
Edit: never mind this is only a single band router. I don't really see the advantage here other than support for a physical segregated network segment. According to the NBG334W user manual this Zyxel router cannot allow/deny access to network resources via the SSIDs? Basically it is a port forwarder with one dedicated physical port on the back dedicated to one SSID and the remaining ports at tied to the main SSID.

I like ZyXEL's stuff. I have an X-550, P-330W, and NSA-220. All are working flawlessly. I may get this just to play around with it. I mean, the USB adapter alone is worth at least $10-15, right?

If you connect wirelessly to the first SSID, you get access to your shared network resources just like regular wireless router. When you have guests over, you let them connect to the second SSID and they cannot see resources on the first network. This setup is regularly accomplished using 2 routers, one as main, second for guests. This unit here saves you the second router and the more complicated setup.
You can have tons of "SSIDs" with any DD-WRT capable router. I believe they are called "Virtual APs." It takes some work to get them setup like the Zytel apparently has going out of the box. But this isn't such a unique feature. My first thought was "only two?"

NOT TRUE for this Zyxel NBG334W. As correctly posted earlier that is not how the Zyxel NBG334W user's manual states dual SSIDs work with this Zyxel NBG334W. It specifically states one of the Wireless SSIDs is tied to ONE physical port on the back of the Zyxel and ALL wireless traffic through that wirelss network SSID can ONLY access network resources connected to that ONE physical port on the Zyxel NBG334W. No other recsources conencted via the second Zyxel NBG334W wireless network SSID or the other physical ports on the Zyxel NBG334W can be accessed via that one physical segmented port so physical conenctions and port fowrarding ARE relevant in the Zyxel NBG334W.

I've just got mine today. Slick looking white box. It was up and running in 3 minutes, no problems whatsoever. Coverage not bad at all compared my previous Dlink router (now up on Craig's list), the router is covering my 2 story house and my basement as well, can't ask for more . the Adapter is Zyxel's G202, linx and mac compatible. but didn't get a chance to test the USB adapter yet. I'm very pleased with the Router, way worth the investment.

The 4 LAN Ethernet ports will be part of the LAN; there is no option to have this part of the Guest WLAN. This is on firmware V3.60(AMS.2)."
I believe that's the latest firmware on this unit.

The 550 router is well known to support many connections when using p2p software. But I haven't heard if the newer Zyxel routers works as well. Can't find any reviews that address this.
Any one got it and tested it? Please tell your experience. Thanks

Just got it...so far the router works when wired...I have a mac though and can't figure out how to make the wireless adaptor work with it...anyone able to help? It's a Mac Pro Intel Xeon...thanks!
I just bought one from BUY on eBay. the Microsoft CashBack / paypal makes it $ 22.50 total, I just rather not have to deal with rebate if its only 2.50 more you know.. time, stamp, envelope and the waiting and copymaking and filing... etc..

ordered one on Buy.com on sunday night. was offered 2-day shipping for only $2 (after i went to choose free shipping). package was here by tuesday afternoon (i was shocked since it shipped on monday).
the router itself works great. good signal strength. i'm hoping i have as much luck with it as my parents have had with the zyxel i bought for them 3 years ago. i'm replacing a netgear that lasted 1 year. . . haven't tried the wireless adapter yet. . . .
i think it's a great deal for $30.
