nice! Is there anyway to get a discount without the Kohls card?

2 words - MAGIC BULLET about $40 shipped and it comes with ready made glasses for 4, I think you can buy more of the threaded glasses or just use the bullet itself. This is the best for these types of drinks.

They had something similar on clearence in Target (Renton WA), they might have been $40-$50 (though maybe not as nice as the one at Kohls.

True magic bullet can blend ice... but this is more for the kitchen gadgeteer or the party hoister. It's just a freakin ice shaver and blender... BUT it's classy (we have the middle range Key West model) and people enjoy when we bring it to parties... invites go like this, "David and Kelly come to this party... (and don't forget the machine )"

I'm just saying this guy has a point.. for the college aged, magic bullet all the way. Eventually people want nicer stuff and this is fun and affordable as far as nice stuff goes.

Thanks OP, great post! I saw bad reviews for this product. I'm not positive it was the same model though. People reported it just stopped working after a few uses. One reviewer exchange it like 3 times for that reason, but said it worked great when it did work. Just a heads up in case you toss the box or use the UPC for a rebate.

In for one at $223 shipped (not including $50 rebate), great job....

Now I'm troubled. I'm not sure which one to buy! Does anyone have an opinion about whether to buy the cheaper one or the deluxe model? (or links to reviews that help?)

Thanks!

I can answer that here are the differences

Bahama- Makes 1 pitcher of beverage
Key West- Makes 1, 2 or 3 beverages (3 is Pitcher)
Fuji- Makes 1, 2 or 3 beverages (3 is Pitcher) and also has separate controls for different drink types

My thinking when I bought my Key West model was this... I expect to use it when it is only my wife and I, so we wanted to option of making 1 or 2 drinks, instead of the whole pitcher. The extra control on the Fuji is nice, but is nothing that the Key West and Bahama model can't do manually... ie. you can select blend only first, then hit shave and blend. The Fuji has controls to to blend/shave/blend and blend/shave.

It depends, if you're only going to use it for parties, I think the Bahama is fine... I have never used less than the whole pitcher for parties.

Besides the above mentioned difference I believe the parts are the same for all of the units.

WARNING--The manufacturer will not honor the rebate if the unit is bought on sale. I ordered the larger Key West version (DM1000) from Kohl's on sale, sent in the rebate, and it was rejected for "Product was not within valid price range". I spoke with managers at both the rebate company and Jarden (company making the machines). I explained there is no price range stated on the rebate form. Both tried to state if the unit was bought on sale, then the rebate offer is not valid as it violates the "Offers can not be combined" statement on the rebate form. I have never heard of such in my life. The rebate company stated that they addressed the issue on 12/15/08 with Jarden (meaning they are getting more complaints than mine) and this is the response they got from Jarden. Both the rebate company and Jarden were very rude. Buyer beware. I have spoke to my local Kohl's and the are going to take the machine back.

I bought the Bahamas model thinking that I was going to get the rebate ($30), but the company will not honor the rebate because I got the machine on sale. Is that poor business or what? Don't buy it if you expect to get a rebate. The rebate does not clearly state that you needed to buy the machine at full price.

I have never heard of such a thing.

Have you contacted the BBB? I am assuming I will get the same answer, and I definitely will. I'll also contact the consumer advocate in our local newspaper.

These kinds of shady business practices need to be exposed.

Yes, they don't want BBB action, PLUS contact the attorney general, they need to stipulate that in their rebate.

This is a good deal but I would never buy anything again from Kohls thinking I'd get the rebate money. Twice I've sent in rebates for purchases from Kohls and received nada!

But it is a manufacturer rebate... not from Kohls. But either way, it doesnt look good for those expecting to get some money back!
