Got a mystery sale coupon from Dell SB. It was for 30% off for $699. Here is what I configured:

I upgraded the DVD to DVDRW for $30 to get to $699.

I was reading a story on Yahoo here Dell is one of the companies struggling and may see restructuring. Any thoughts on the impact to the company/service?
where is the coupon -- is this just for you? often there are much better configured systems available for not much more

The coupon was sent in a SB mailing this morning. It is 20, 25, or 30% off. You don't see the value until you enter it in a shopping cart. Mine was for 30%.
I would be looking to upgrade the RAM to at least 3GB and add/increase disk space. Other wise it's not a bad deal, except you need to code and don't know what percentage till you type it in.
Both upgrades are usually cheaper done outside of Dell.
come on man.. You either need to share the code ..if its not a one time use ..or atleast give a great deal on the configuration on which a coupon maybe applied. You did neither!! Its like telling ... I got xbox from my aunt. Check with your aunt!!

The code comes from an email sent by Dell 'email deals subscribers'. You should quit whining about not getting the coupon handed to you and actually read the thread.

Yeah I did not want to upgrade at Dell but the price of the system is $669 before discounts. You need to add $30. You can add the DVDRW which adds $30 and adds a $30 discount. Or you can upgrade the memory for $30 to 2GB. However this doesn't apply a discount which makes the system about $23 more expensive.
The question "Is this a good deal?" says it all...
Email subscribers (I am one and have coupon for 25% off and it is not really worth it for me) already got this e-mail and non-subscribers can't use it. Thinking of tax and you can get a 20% off coupon, I suggest to wait for a better deal, unless you need the computer now and you want Dell.

Nevermind added the wrong 20". Should be the Dell 20 inch Widescreen 2009WFP UltraSharp™ Digital Flat Panel Display.

Thanks, Just ordered this with the 20" and 3yr Warranty (normally don not get extended warranty) but it would get me over $499 for free shipping. Total prior to tax $517. I think this is a good deal. Quad Core, ATI 3450, Vista Business w/XP, 20" LCD, 250GB HD, DVD R/W, 3yr Warranty

The Dell mystery email coupons still work fine with this Vostro 410. Considering the 20" LCD and Vista Business with free XP Pro downgrade I would certainly consider this hot if you have the Dell email coupon
IMO here is the optimal 410 config to maximize the 30% coupon

Hmm, why don't you add another $10 item and get free shipping rather than paying $30 for shipping

I got it to $499.10 plus local taxes which qualifies for free shipping by selecting: 2 year warranty + 20" E207WFP + $4 plan tree for me. was not sure if: 1 year warranty + 20" 2009WFP Ultrasharp is better than 2 year warranty + 20" E207WFP. The difference is $12 more for the ultrasharp and 1 year warranty.

Surprised this is not getting more responses. I bit the bullet and bought a code off fleabay but got everything to stack. I went for the 3 year warranty.

I just bought a code too off eBay. Trying to figure out if I should get the overpriced 3gb ram to get the free shipping. Have to decide before they kill the stacking
I just did this for my friend. It still works and discounts still stack. Looks like a great deal for a Quad core with 20" LCD and 3 year on-site warranty. Now if it breaks in the next 3 years my friend can call Dell instead of me.

I read about this at SD a few days ago and cashed in. I was able to buy a coupon off a site they had posted there for 4.99. Though i remember that coupon expired on the 5th, so im not sure if this deal is over or the op is using a new one???
