They may be trying to get a head start on consumer Christmas shopping before black Friday. They did the $10 gc last year on one of the major holidays but you had three days to shop the store in order to receive the gc.

Please be aware of the $10 trap, you have to spend $30 to get the $10 but
when you want to redeem that $10, you have to spend another $30. If there
is no good bargain during that time (11/13-11/25), the $10 is useless.

Seems MEGA so-so at best
Only one hour and not all stores, not to mention the $10 is off $60 (according to other poster $30 to get and another $30 to use), so about 30% off overpriced store prices (40% off max, if you buy 2nd $30 and use $10 off during same 20% off event and only buy $30, no more to maximize savings).

You can get the Xbox Arcade holiday bundler for $199.99 - %20 off = $160 and then buy a game later for $10 off. Doesnt sound like too bad of an idea to me. Xbox Arcade and 3 games for under $200 bucks. Would make a good X-mass/holiday gift.
