I picked one up at BB. Have 4GB running in it now, but will reduce to 3GB soon. Just add another 2GB and use the 1GB it came with. It's not fast, especially running in vista. But it's surprisingly good. I've got $360 into it including tax, the 2GB RAM, and a few cable adaptors (USB hub, etc). Yes it sucks with only 2 ubs ports, must use 4-1 usb hub. Screen is decent, not the best, but totally usable, no dead pixels. Video card is junk, no real games here, but movies, and pics, and web surfing is fine. |

WiFi works, great. Ok battery life ~2 hours on video, so enough for 1 movie. Don't know where to get additional battery. The AC adapter is tiny! This is a good thing, especially when traveling- using 65W max. Build in speaker is very good, better than most laptop build-in types. Touch pad is responsive, works well. Keyboard is ok, feels a bit cheap, but no keyboard errors. DVD+DL drive is cheap, I need to be nice to it, it can't take much abuse. Burns DVD and CDs fine. Only burned 3 so far, all ok. Here's my overall assessment: this is a $330 laptop (incl CA tax + $6 environmental fee), for another $25 and 2GB, 3GB total. It's a decent machine. I just hope it holds up for a few years, if so, its a deal. I don't know if it can handle the abuse of daily travel, so I won't. By performance comparison, this is like last year's (2007) mid-line laptop, with 14" Wide LCD, and basic Vista. No frills, no extras (like webcam, bluetooth, or PCMCIA slots). I'm glad I've made this purchase. One last note, this is my 1st vista PC and I hate vista. Made it look like classic windows just for my comfort. But one really Surprising thing, over 1 week, the laptop has been on and it hasn't crashed yet! I been giving this laptop a real good workout, installing major apps, video processing files, itunes, moving huge files around my home network wirelessly, etc. THis little dude hasn't crashed once yet! My next cheapo laptop will be the WalMart Compaq for also $300. I'll try to get one of those |

Win XP works great on this, its even fast. Just a tidbit, youll want to install all drivers before installing the graphics driver. Also make sure the updates and .NET 2 or higher is installed for Catalyst to work. |

Ordered online for Christmas gift and have already received it. Now I just received and email from Best Buy apologizing that the item was advertised with 3 USB ports and actually only has 2. They sent me a $10 digital coupon for a future purchase. If you ordered online you should be receiving the email shortly, and should be able to call in store and ask for gift card or something. |

Ok so does this lapto0p only have 1 RAM slot? I opened mine up, and saw only 1 RAM slot, with the 1gb in there. Does this mean I have to buy a 2GB stick of RAM to get it to that level? |

Question: does it support 220V and 110V? I am planning to use it for travel, but do not want to open the box if it does not support 220V. Thanks in advance. |

Ive installed a 5600x2 and 4 gigs of ram. Also installed segate 7200rpm 320 gig drive. The laptop works great. My battery life tho is only 40 mins lol. Its a fun laptop to play around with. Ive triead the 4850e which works fine. I also tried the 8450 x3 but would not boot. Ive upgraded the power supply the last one couldn't keep up. Paul |
