I found the 30 days return if damage to Amazon but was wondering about the actual warranty on the product if it should fail within the first year.
Thank you. |

Thank you. Scroll down, far down, past the TV specs and there was a "Buy this item together with" and among the cables and accessories were multiple service plans that you can add to the cart separately. |

outlawnyc said:can anyone tell me why 120 Hz is better than 60 Hz thanks! Movies and many prime time TV programs are shot at 24 frames per second. This means that TVs operating at any refresh rate that is not an even multiple of 24 will have to do some interpolation to present the content. TVs operating at 30Hz or 60Hz traditionally solved this via a method called "2:3 pulldown". The television repeats the first film frame over the first two fields of video, and the second film frame over the next three fields of video (1, 1, 2, 2, 2), and continues to do this with the 3rd and 4th frames, the 5th and 6th framer (1,1,2,2,2 - 3,3,4,4,4 - 5,5,6,6,6), and so on until 24 frames are displayed over 60 refresh cycles. This discrepancy in the number of times frames are displayed can lead to a jerky motion in filmed material which some viewers notice for example, especially with scenes that pan. 120, on the other hand, is an even multiple of 24. Televisions with 24p capability, operating at 120Hz, can display an equal number of frames for every refresh cycle. The benefit— You can watch movies in natural, cinematic motion, the way they are seen at the cinema. Every single frame of the movie can now be seen without using additional video processing that converts film-based images to video reproduction. Additionally, 24p True Cinema input capability can be used along with Motionflow™ 120Hz technology for outstanding fluid motion beyond what you would typically see at the cinema. Once you experience 24p video it will be hard to view video without it. Sony's Blu-ray disc players wisely take advantage of this by including 24p output capability. |

52W4100 is now $2005, making the package deal about $1905. I also get 1.5% back ($28.50) if I pay with my PayPal debit card. |

I noticed that, but still holding out for the original price which was less than $2k. I'm thinking/hoping it will go even lower than that by Nov 8 before the deal is over. |

Several near me do, including a bunch of Samsung LCDs set up in splitscreen-half of the panel 120hz, half 60hz. At Circuit City they had a loop of video running with several sources: a music video, a regular movie, an animated movie, and a football game. I could not tell any difference between 60hz and 120hz. Not one bit, nada. Now, I also can't tell the difference between a computer game running at 60fps and 30fps, so perhaps my eye/brain isn't sensitive to this sort of thing. Or all these stores might have the TVs set up improperly--like bad lighting, poor source material, incorrect TV settings, etc. To me the whole 120hz/60hz thing is a bit of a scam, designed to get a few extra hundred dollars out of people. Ala getting people to pay extra for 1080p when the screen size & viewing distance don't justify it. I would make sure that you're actually able to discern an improvement before laying out the extra dough. |

Can some gurus help me out. I like the big screen and thus debating myself whether to go with the 52" LCD Or Samsung 67" DLP (HL67A750). What do you think? Please suggest! |

After getting rid of a 52" rear projection tv this year I would not take another one for free. I am sure DLP are nice but I think the quality is much better with an LCD especially in a bright room. But the clincher is the size. There is nothing worse than having a large tv the size of a VW beetle in your living room that no one else wants. If I went large I would go front projector but that would only be in a theater like setup. |

I couldn't agree more. DLP may be alluring for their price/size ratio, but I find the picture and brightness of an LCD far superior, not to mention that it hangs on my wall instead of taking up the space of another couch. primetime4 said:VenkatAtWallet said:Can some gurus help me out. Well, I can't buy until my paycheck is direct deposited late tonight. So I'll be buying on Nov 7th, a day before it's over. Here's to hoping it goes down further, or at least doesn't go back up. |

You'll have to cancel your order and reorder it. I did that this morning after the price dropped to $2,005 for the TV. |
