Some believe that Ruth's Chris is very overpriced, especially since menu items are ala carte. However, for those who love Ruth's Chris regardless of the cost, here's a new deal:
Steak & Stuffed Lobster for $39.95 For a limited time, treat your taste buds to our mouthwatering 6-ounce filet served alongside a succulent Caribbean lobster tail stuffed with jumbo lump crab meat and garlic herb cheese.
Available for a limited time at participating locations.
Not hot at all, can have 2 plates with a pound each of prime rib at a Texas Road house for this. Timberlodge has a 1/2 pound of loin for aobut $20 and you can add a lobster tail for $10 and that is before a coupon (birthday club for $10 off or free app). This is Fat Wallet after all.
$40!? Man, I can get 40 double stacks from Wendy's for that! Then keep them on the floor of my car and chew on one for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next two weeks!

Lobster is very cheap right now, so the added lobster isn't as big a bonus as it used to be. Even retail lobster at the grocery store is $5.99 a pound right now, so that tail they are including probably costs them about $3.
Gotta admit that the deal does sound tasty, though! Comparisons to Texas Road House prime rib are pretty unfair.

<3 Ruth Chris... this is actually one hell of a deal if you're a connoisseur that appreciates fine dining. Or you have a girl you need to impress.
true - but some of us don't need lobster to impress a girl - the giant crustacean in our pants is sufficient

I can go right down the road and get lobster for 3.99 a pound.
Got news for ya - no comparison. I grew up in Key West catching those bad boys. The langusta (spiny lobster) spends its life growing that awesome tail, not wasting energy on those pitiful excuses for claws. Much better texture too.

I also dismissed the idea of spending so much for a steak/meal, until I was someones's guest at a Ruth's Chris SH last year. It was a birthday party with about 20 guests, so it was quite a spread, but OMG!
It's not just the cost of the raw materials, the reason to try a meal at RCSH is the way it's prepared & served. Now granted, it's obviously not going to be a regular dining choice for the vast majority of folks, but for a special occasion, it's tremendous. And if you can get in on one of their occasional Special Deals: GO FOR IT! After my 'trancendent experiance', I took my folks (because they would have never gone on their own) & they loved it.
I'm probably as cheap/frugal as the next FatWalleter, but sometimes you just have to treat yourself & spend a little extra cash

I figure for those of us with good jobs and some discretionary income, the "economy" makes for the perfect excuse to indulge in the finer things at a discount price
Those who criticize this deal should go eat at their favorite school cafeteria, I'm sure they'll like the prices there.... (yes...for those of you who haven't a clue this IS sarcasm.. )

Depends on location. Maine seacoast was at $2.99 or less as of a couple of weeks ago. Lowest I think I've ever seen.
