Link Many of the reviews on Newegg indicate there are compatibility problems with this card. Apparently it is an SD, not an SDHC, and only works in some SD devices. Also many reports of DOA and corrupted cards. Sample review comments: This card is *NOT* SDHC. It will work in *some* devices which cannot use SDHC (like my Sansa), but it may not work in all of them (like my SD card readers). It seems to work fine in all my SDHC devices (N800 & S630). If you have a device that cannot use SDHC cards this is worth a try, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work.
Wouldn't work with my Nintendo Wii out of the box. Plus using standard formatting methods would not allow it to work at all in the wii. I had to seek out a third party formatting utility to get it to work in the wii.
My 3 year old Toshiba Satellite M60 laptop will not read the card. It see's it but fails on formatting. However i think this is a windows issue because GParted formats it fine with no issue.
Tried two different cards. Neither was readable by Palm TX, or Dell computer using XP, or Compaq computer using XP, or 2 Canon cameras or Kodak camera. I have no clue what it may run on. Can't return it fast enough. This is one of the only non-HC, non-2.0 cards on the market. It works perfectly in my Palm TX; which is why I bought it. Slower than HC but who cares if it works in my Palm computer Transcend seems to be the only company that makes a 4gb SD card that isn't SDHC. There are actually 3 different versions of this card (with 3 different labels on the card) with the same part #. My card has the words "Secure Digital Card" written on it.
I bought this for use in my Wii by Nintendo. Note that most all electronic products that support only SD format (Not SDHC) will have problems with anything over the normal 2 Gig SD limit. In the Wii, it would recognize any data already stored on the card, but it could not write to the card until I put enough filler data from my PC (large .AVI video) onto the card to drop it below 2 Gigs. The Wii could then use it normally. As I add more data from the Wii, I can remove any filler data used to make room for more Virtual Console games, Games Saves, pictures, music... etc. |
