I just received a pair of these. As noted in posts on other deal sites, the shipping method is horrible! The drives are in thin transparent plastic containers with nothing to protect the containers from bouncing back and forth in the cardboard box. My package consisted of: On the bottom: a TigerDirect catalog, about 1/8-inch thick
Drive One
Drive Two
On the top: about one inch of wadded paper. Others have reported even WORSE shipping. As I understand it, TD won't accept returns on these. And getting proper packaging to return the drives to Hitachi could be an expensive proposition if you don't have acceptable packing around. |

The plastic package on one end is twice as wide as the thickness of the drive. I suppose it is good enough. The only concern I have is that it idles at 41C. I guess it is ok by my seagates idle at 34C. HD Tune: Hitachi HDS721010KLA Benchmark Transfer Rate Minimum : 41.5 MB/sec

Transfer Rate Average : 69.4 MB/sec
Access Time : 12.9 ms

CashBack on Live.com is at 5% at the moment. I hope it goes back up as I'm thinking about getting a few more. |

My rebate is invalid due to "missing UPC". I sent in the original label from the Anti-static bag. Anyone have a copy the original UPC ? Need to resubmit rebate. Thanks |

This is bogus. Same thing happened to me. Get in touch with Tiger and say you want to return the drives. I did and I got a refund. |

I don't think they wanted the label from the anti-static bag, they wanted the TigerDirect sheet that was in the box (the purple-lish colored paper with a barcode on it at the bottom). I sent that and didnt send anything from my drives and both of mine were ok. ~beast |

Thanks You didn't see the "please return this entire sheet if claiming a rebate" part at the bottom of the page with the upc code you were supposed to send in? That's definitely what they wanted. I sent that in and all four of my rebates said valid online when I checked. |
