I used to be a big iolo fan, but with System Mechanic 6, you lost a lot of control... it was very intrusive and unlike the previous versions. I still used versions SysMech 4 & 5 occasionally, mostly for the Search & Recover portion...
It couldn't see flash drives, however. I would imagine that several years later, this version of the software should be able to do so....
I followed the directions in OP and in the article, and despite being congratulated by iolo for getting the free offer, and completing the order form online, which in the final panel says my order is being reviewed and I should get an email within an hour with the activation code, and getting an email about 35% off the online purchase of iolo products, I never get the activation code email.

Was anyone else successful?
I followed the instructions, and filled out the shopping cart info, etc., and DID get an activation code.
I immediately got 2 emails, one with the code and another marketing one... But the two emails did come together within a minute of filling out the form.
