Just looked, and i got one too. That's great since I wasn't expecting anything, and I didn't voice a complaint.

3 out of thousands of items is a pretty small percentage. Every company is going to have goof ups. That's why they have the language on their website that they do. They are trying, somewhat, to make amends for that goof. They are not, however, dumb enough to honor this for as many orders as their were. Mainly because of the massive amount of money they stand to lose. I don't know how Britax's contracts read with them but they could also be looking at penalties from the vendor for selling at that price.

while I, too, would have preferred the original "deal", I am still pretty pleased they at least did this... and that they appear to have done it for everyone- not just those that called and complained (which I did not bother to do)

I found out the reason for the gift card for this item when the snow blower orders received nothing. My wife has some friends on another message board who received the carseat. I wonder if that makes them have to honor the deal for everyone who ordered one and would explain the wording in the email.

What was the benefit to them? A bunch of pissed off people and a loss of thousands on gift cards? Come on now...
