^ Good Luck with that From Target.com: said: Mispriced Items Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items on our Web site may be mispriced. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices as part of our shipping procedures.
* If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and ship you the item. * If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

WebForCam said:This is interesting as Target has no legal right to cancel the orders. An offer was made (their ad), we accepted by placing an order and they accepted by sending a confirmation. They have some language buried about not responsible for errors but it is not part of the ordering and confirmation process.
I have asked for their Corporate contact info as well as their in-house attorney.

I also own one and love it!
My order from Target was canceled too. I don't think $249 at baby center is much of a deal though. Albee baby has two floral patterns at $195 and a couple of others at $209. This is nowhere near as hot as what could have been at Target though. For people who actually need one of these, I just bought one from eBay at $199 - 25% Live Cash Back brand new in box with Free Shipping and no tax, so $150 total. It already arrived and is, in fact, new. My oldest daughter has one and we just got this one for our 6-month old. They are simply THE BEST car seats on the market. The difference between a Britax and a cheap one at Wal-Mart is like the difference between a Bentley and a Kia. Here's the seller I used: http://myworld.ebay.com/babycatalog/ I couldn't be happier. |

Yeah, if you're willing to put up the legal costs. You're not going to recover attorneys fees in this action since only a contract dispute and the only remedy available would be specific performance (which I doubt that the court would enforce) and no punitive damages are available. Good luck! |

Yeah, bite them Good luck with that...
what would the grounds for suit be? What have you lost? Did they bill your credit card? If they did, then did they refuse to refund it? |

Mine got cancelled =( I for one HATE seeing post about people that order insane amounts of an item just cause it's on sale/cheap. It's like when I want to go buy some meat that's advertised and see some chump with a cart-full while the rack is empty. I jusy want to tip their cart over!!!!AWWWWW |

Got the GC too on my Amazon Account. Funny how they say this though: By redeeming this e-GiftCard, you acknowledge full satisfaction and release of any claims against Target relating to this pricing error. |

I imagine that there is a potential lawsuit here that Target wants to avoid. I am surprised that there aren't more laws or precedents on this type of situation. Several states have laws about purchases at B&M since stores would deliberately put up a low price on a sign and then charging a higher price at the cash register when the UPC was scanned. The idea was that most people wouldn't notice and the store would make more profit. To combat this practice, various laws were put in place to deter defrauding the customer by semi-secretly changing the price. This case is a little different since the price didn't change from the product page to the checkout page and no customer was charged the higher price without their knowledge. Still, when things are vague in the legal world, always CYA. |

Mistakes in price are not deals. This is not a case of Target baiting anyone. This has NO benefit to them, it can only be a detriment. The talk of lawsuits is silly. I mean, seriously? What if you put your car in Autotrader and they left off a digit? Should you be required to honor that price? The whole, "they charged me" argument it bunk too. Of course they did, they are trying to fulfill orders in the most timely manner possible. The ONLY way you have ANY legit claim is if they are denying a refund, which they are not. Every once in a while one of these slides thru, when they dont, just move on, no need to stir up so much ire. ash =o) |
