These are all refurbished but I have had great luck in the past. Shipping on most is free. Highlights are the 52" 1080p for $1099 shipped, same TV is $1600 + tax at the wholesale clubs.

The best deal by far is the 47PFL9732D which is a 47" 120mHz 1080p HDTV with Ambilight. This TV is normally $2300+ and listed at only $899 with free shipping. They are offering their non digital ready TVs for $0.01 but it is said to be for employees only. You will have to pay shipping on those but if you sneak it thru you can get a small HDTV for $100 - $150 after the inflated shipping.

Shipping on the .01 TVs is crazy-high. $98.99 to ship a 15" and $148.99 to ship a 20". Methinks they're trying to pull a fast one.

Negative? LOL. FYI, friend at the house just ordered the 20" for $150 after the shipping. Never asked for employee info. Even at $150, that is half of retail. The real deal here is the $2300 47" 120hz ambilight for $899 shipped. Nobody can touch that deal, not within even a $1000.

$150 for a 20" REFURB that's not even HD and an aspect ration of 4:3? Your friend got ripped off. The 15" for $100 isn't bad (note that I *didn't give you red, btw) I was merely commenting that the *shipping* charge was insanely high. The thinly veiled disguise of an 'employee discount' is ridiculous.

Here's why some of the TVs are $.01 + inflated shipping:

Note: This product does not have an integrated digital ATSC tuner and will not be able to receive digital, over the air programming once the digital television transition in finalized. Because of this the FCC mandates that the manufacturer can no longer sell these NTSC products to CONSUMERS. We can however offer these products to EMPLOYEES at negligible cost and recoup costs for shipping.

Nice try. The 47 Ambilight TV sold out.

Apparently the 47" Ambilight is sold out but it is still on their web page.
I bought the other 47 inch...it had good reviews even though Philips is now selling out to Funai.
Anyone know if I will need cables?

Site also says you need to be an employee..
I did not buy the 52" due to size...think 47 will be sufficient and will look better.

Anyone hook these up at Comcast???

Thanks for posting. The above complaint was directed to Philips site..not to FatWallet.

No fast one, they are very clear why they charge so much for shipping:

be aware if you were to get refund for bad tv, you could possibly only get .01 cent back. lose shipping cost.

You guys are missing the real deal here. Is there ANYWHERE that you can get a 47" 1080p TV that does 120mhz for less than DOUBLE the price listed? Just pulled the trigger on one myself, not sure what I will do with it though but the more I looked around, it is the best deal on a TV with those features by a large margin.

"Philips"

I never had a problem with Philips...and its the 2nd tv I got from the outlet store

When did you get the first one, 6 weeks ago? Philips (not Phillips) = junk.

This is a valid point, and another reason not to buy this crap based on previous reports on the condition some of these TV's arrive in.

What's interesting is the page says "HD Ready" but a quick search of the 15" shows it as ED. The lack of specs on Philips site is concerning as well.

Update:

Here's the Amazon link for more info. No HDMI/component as suspected and only 1 review with 1 star. I would avoid all the cheap ones for sure:

I would NOT risk buying one of those 1 cent tvs, getting some piece of crap, and not being able to get more than 1 cent back because shipping costs are nonrefundable. Only way to do it is a chargeback on your cc

There are better deals to be had on a budget over in the NEW sets. Sure, a couple of them are old school rear projection, another is DLP, but worth a look.

The 20" is 800x600 while the 15" is 1024x768 - go figure!

The 20" is ED but the 15" is technically HD as it can do 720p.

Maybe I should revise this post title, the $0.01 TVs are not the real "deal" here. Once again, the deal on the 47" 120Hz TV is untouchable. I would think an HDTV with all the latest bells and whistles for $899 that was $2899 6 months ago and never been cheaper than $1600 would qualify as hot... but that's just me.

Yeah, I'd change the title to make it clearer. If the deal here is really $.01 TV's, then it'd be hot. But there are no real $.01 TV deals here, just misleading pricing* by Philips on small TV's and great prices for the big ones. I'd put the specs/prices of the 47" in the title, since that seems to be the 'real' deal here.

* The FCC disclaimer makes it obvious that they're being misleading with the pricing. Since they can't legally sell it to consumers, they're going to 'recoup' the costs of $150 shipping on a 20" LCD tv. Since it doesn't cost nearly $150 to ship such a small TV, it's just a way to try to get around the FCC rules. They're not recouping pricing, as much as they'd like to claim they are. Ask yourself this; if you saw an eBay deal for a refurb 20" LCD tv for $0.01 + $149.99 shipping, would you think they were just recouping their shipping costs? Or would you think they were manipulating their shipping costs to make their prices seem lower? Same thing here, for different reasons.

BTW, nice deal for the 47" tv's. Very tempting...

I tried all kinds of discount codes (not shipping) ...none of them worked.

FYI, both my TVs shipped today, the 47" Ambilight and the 15" HD. Total for both was just over $1000 shipped, that is over 60% off retail and less than half the lowest listed price anywhere in the last few months.

Got both TVs today, perfect condition, just as new. The 47" looks very close to my expensive Sammy panel and the kids are loving the 15" in the play room. Despite the reds, this is without a doubt, the best deal on LCDs right now.

OOS on the 47" ambilight..
(one web site said that this model is no longer in production,
and the last ship date was Oct 2008.)

Non-ambilight version is still live, still 1080P and 120hz.
