The New Deal ...(thanks verbage)... (I confirmed FREE SHIPPING - must click on the links on the shipping page to get it)...

verbage said:
Actually, they sent out a Black Friday 15% off code "blackfriday", so the price is $21.99 - 15% off = $18.69. I ended up biting on this myself yesterday. Code is valid through today (30 Nov).

Item link is http://www.all-battery.com/cardnimhaa2300mahreadytouser2urechargeablebatteries3cardstotal24xaa.aspx.

When I went back to look at it just now, I don't seem to see anything about free shipping. But when I ordered yesterday I assumed there was, and just went through the checkout that way, and it seemed to be free (I was charged $18.69). Whatever the case, if this does not work for you, there is also apparently blanket $2.49 shipping for any weight/quantity of items. So if you have to use that, the total will be ~$21 vs. the $20 from during the week.

Note 11/29/08: It's been reported that code will not work on any order under $25. Use Battery12 for 12% off. On shipping page, click the "Click here if all items are free shipping items" to get free shipping.

10% CashBack through mrrebates. YMMV on getting CashBack while using coupons.

My advise, throw the travel charger in the drawer or trash and get a good LaCrosse (or the likes) charger. You'll be much happier and your batteries will thank you for it.

Thanks OP - how do these compare performance wise to the Eneloop?

I'm not sure about the Tenergy LSD batteries as they are sort of new. Tenergy batteries in general are hit and miss. I've really had little to no issue with them but I use a decent LaCrosse (actually 2 of them) charger and I discharge/refresh them every so often. YMMV as these are very new. Also, this is the largest maH rating I've seen on a LSD battery. Will be interesting to see how much it actually holds (I'll check them out on the LaCrosse when I receive them).

Just an FYI for folks considering this, I have purchased from All-Battery.com before and I have been less than impressed. The $30 charger I got from them had the fan go bad ( bad bearing making lots of noise) with maybe 100 hours of use (I use it to charge 9-volts which require a trickle charge). Also 50% of the 9-volts I purchased from them went bad (expanded and busted open) in less than 8 recharges. The D cells I have purchased from them are ok but overrated (they don't hold the charge they claim). This is a case of you get what you pay for. Also their pay for review marketing practices leave something to be desired as well but OP is clearly NOT one of the paid for reviews.

Poor reviews from users who purchased from this site before. I will skip.

Only a few manufacturers make low discharge. Of them they should all produce about 2000mah which is what eneloop uses. I wouldn't trust tenergy brand or would buy from All-Battery who's batteries have a consistant battery failure I do not see with buying brand names.

I bought 24 pieces of these R2U low self discharge style batteries in AA format this past summer, and they have performed well. Note that I have not done any systematic testing on them, nor do I have an advanced charger that will actually calculate capacity based on time and a known discharge rate. That said, they work just as well as some Rayovac Hybrids and Duracell Precharged (white cap, made in Japan) Eneloop-equivalents I have at least for my usage. Nonetheless, I would really like to see some systematic testing done on them to compare them with others. But at least from my experience, they seem to be squarely in the same class as other Chinese-made low self discharge batteries.

Read the most recent review from ResellerRatings and decided to give it a try. It's not too pricey compared to the regular Energizer/Duracell disposable (when it's not on sale). If each one last long enough (holds enough charge after recharging, doesn't break down after just a few recharges), I'd break even if not better off. Then again, I won't know until I get mine and use it.

Seems hot. I just bought 8 AA + 2 AAA eneloops with a few adapters for $20, so this definitely gives more batteries for the same price that are of higher capacity.

Thanks to secstate and verbage for your feedback. This reviewer at resellerratings (from david.e.lewis, currently the first one), gave very good feedback as he tested with BC-900. This is the highlight:
For example, Tenergy R2U AA batteries are rated at 2300 mAh. Initial test results for 4 R2U AA batteries were: 1943, 1930, 2020, 1159 (charging at 500 mA, discharging at 250 mA) for an average of 1763. The same 4 batteries after being refreshed three times were: 2340, 2310, 2200, 2290 (same charge/discharge current) for an average of 2285. This is very close to the rated capacity of 2300 mAh! I have at least six other brands of AA batteries that I have tested (rated from 2000 mAh to 2600 mAh). Most of these AA batteries have a actual capacity that is 10% to 15% lower than the advertised capacity.

I am going to give them a try and see if they will ship properly or not.

I would not be so quick to assume they are higher capacity than the Eneloops. I've not had any batteries exceed ratings (or even meet them) except for Eneloops and Duracells. I have purchased four 8 packs of Eneloop AA batteries and 2 8 packs of Duracells. The 27000 mah Duracells performed very near labeled specs (but they are NOT LSD batteries), and all the Eneloops performed OVER 2000 mah and many right at 2100mah. All tests were done on a Maha MHC9000 charger fresh out of the packs. Also, the Eneloops actually performed BETTER at recycling my camera flash than the 2700 mah duracells.

I'm sure others will remember a good source of info that shows detailed test results, but I can't remember the site right now. Once my own observations mirrored the information I had read, I didn't need to research any further. Hopefully, these are really good batteries at a better price. That would make it a better deal. However, Eneloops have been very good for me, so I will only buy those until real test results are posted showing something better (not just packaging).

I bought Tenergy from them and have been used them for a while. Never have a problem. Just In for one.

Ordered from mrrebates for 10% CB and used the 11% coupon listed on their site (for compatibility with CB). Also got $5 bonus for first time order from them. Should work out to $22.72-$2.50(coupon)+$1.67(tax)-$1.75(CB)-$5(signon bonus already shows up in my a/c) = $15.14.

I bought from All-Battery last year about this time on a similar deal (Non-lsd).
The batteries have made it through the year half way decently, with many recharges.
They weren't GREAT batteries - they are showing their life after this year of use, but for less than $1 per battery they beat the heck out of buying alkalines all the time.

Sure, big picture you might get more bang for your buck going with the big names, but for people like me that don't want to "invest" $100 for a couple dozen batteries, the $28 or so bucks I spent will go a LONG way.

I've already put in an order for this deal.

In for two sets (one for me, one for a friend)...thanks for the heads up. I really need to pick up some D size rechargeables and a charger. My youngest has a toy that takes 3 d size batteries and it eats aa's in d size adapters for breakfast....

Given their pay for reviews, you are likely to see good reseller ratings though I notice on their forum they now say to write an objective review which is new and they are less specific on their requirements to get paid for a review. For a while you could spot their paid reviews a mile a way because they were all written the same way to meet their high specific criteria.

My D cells from them are holding up fine (but not too many recharge cycles yet) and they are a LOT cheaper than the alternatives. I would consider getting those again. In fact the only batteries I would consider getting from them are the sizes that are not so widely available such as C and D. For stuff like AAA and AA and chargers for the same I would wait for a deal from a better known manufacturer. Also remember that most Tenergy batteries are over rated for capacity. My D cells were about 20 percent below spec after several cycles and the same is reported on the candlepower forums where folks take batteries and testing of the same very seriously.
