About 1 month ago, I bought 12 AA and 12 AAA Tenergy LSD batteries from All-Battery. I tested all 12 AA's and 8 of the AAA's in my Lacross BC-900 (at 700mA for the AA's and at 500mA for the AAA's). Here are the results: AA: 2050, 1830, 2070, 2090, 2140, 1152, 1915, 2070, 1990, 1503, 2070, 1979 (average of 1905 mAH) I refreshed the two that tested at 1152 and 1503. After only a few cycles, they charged to 2020 and 2050 mAH (new average of 2022). AAA: 754, 784, 760, 787, 760, 785, 767, 785 (772 average mAH) I have not tested the self discharge rate, so I can't comment on that. However, I charged 4 of the AA's out of the package with my BC-900, and tracked how much charge they took before the charger detected a full charge. Based on that, and what their capacity tested at later, those 4 AA's came out of the package with a charge equal to only 611, 703, 521, and 73 mAH. I hope they were either not fully charged in the factory, or sat in a warehouse for a few years. For what it's worth, I have also owned 24 AA and 24 AAA regular tenergy batteries for about 2 years. They all test at about 80% of stated capacity. All 48 of these batteries have worked great. |

secstate said: My D cells from them are holding up fine (but not too many recharge cycles yet) and they are a LOT cheaper than the alternatives. I would consider getting those again. In fact the only batteries I would consider getting from them are the sizes that are not so widely available such as C and D. For stuff like AAA and AA and chargers for the same I would wait for a deal from a better known manufacturer. Also remember that most Tenergy batteries are over rated for capacity. My D cells were about 20 percent below spec after several cycles and the same is reported on the candlepower forums where folks take batteries and testing of the same very seriously. Thanks for the info. I actually backed off an order from them a while back because of candlepower (or maybe it was a flashlight forum) but this deal was too good to pass up. I figure if I get 50% good batteries, I've still gotten 4 "free" batteries (the charger is worthless) per order of 24 over the current cost of eneloop. I don't need any more AAA's or adapters so the Costco deal wasn't worth it either. And I get rid of all my "fast discharge" NIMH's as well. It drives me nuts to pull a battery and have it be dead. Now to wait for a deal on the C's and D's. |

Thanks to secstate and verbage for your feedback. This reviewer at resellerratings (from david.e.lewis, currently the first one), gave very good feedback as he tested with BC-900. This is the highlight: For example, Tenergy R2U AA batteries are rated at 2300 mAh. Initial test results for 4 R2U AA batteries were: 1943, 1930, 2020, 1159 (charging at 500 mA, discharging at 250 mA) for an average of 1763. The same 4 batteries after being refreshed three times were: 2340, 2310, 2200, 2290 (same charge/discharge current) for an average of 2285. This is very close to the rated capacity of 2300 mAh! I have at least six other brands of AA batteries that I have tested (rated from 2000 mAh to 2600 mAh). Most of these AA batteries have a actual capacity that is 10% to 15% lower than the advertised capacity.
I am going to give them a try and see if they will ship properly or not. Well, that reviewer didn't test the LSD performance of this generic brand. And that's the point of buying these, for its advertised LSD features. Thanks for the guys willing to be the guinea pigs. I'll wait for the next eneloop deal though. Can't stand having "fully charged" Energizer batteries showing only 50% capacity after two weeks of just sitting there discharging itself. |

Thanks for the guys willing to be the guinea pigs. I'll wait for the next eneloop deal though. Can't stand having "fully charged" Energizer batteries showing only 50% capacity after two weeks of just sitting there discharging itself. I have not tested these systematically, for example, charging up a set, letting them sit for a year, and then tracking the voltage periodically like every week. Indeed, as they were only released in the spring of this year, even if somebody started testing a set as soon as they were released, they'd have maybe only 7 months of data at a max. Whatever the case, I can tell you these are certainly not like regular NiMHs which self discharge quickly based on the 24 pieces I have been using since May. As I said, they seem to perform just like Rayovac Hybrids and Duracell Precharged (i.e. the Eneloop variety with white caps and made in Japan) at least for my usage patterns. It would be nice to see somebody do some systematic time lapse testing on these like I just mentioned, but depending on how long you'd want to see data for their low self discharge characteristics, it would be a long time before results are available. |

I bought these last time around and for the price I'm very happy. I keep a 16 of the AA and 4 of the AAA in two of their T-6988 10 channel smart charger and rotate 8 more AA through cameras etc. Unlike plain vanilla NiMH these seem to always be charged and ready in my cameras. Now how long they last is up in the air because I just haven't paid attention. As far as the company goes I've done business with them at least a dozen times and have always gotten my order on time and as advertised. |

The price is compelling but I'm going to take a pass on these, because: 1. As has been stated (especially by bjohns), the R2U Tenergy are already considerably inconsistent charge levels right out of the package! I've got about +30 Eneloops and recently got 24 Duracells (Precharged, LSD)...ALL of them were within .01v charge range of each other out of the package. 2. The 1 review at Am@zon for these seriously panned them: LINK. I give more weight to a review like that because it gives a real-world usage example. bjohns mentions using the BC900 charger to run through several refresh cycles to bring the capacity level back on 2 cells, but what charge/discharge mA settings did you use? Over at CandlePowerForums, Eneloops were tested best of the bunch with being able to maintain 1.2v output even at 10A discharge! Sounds like these Tenergy batts have a pretty low discharge rate threshhold if they can't even power a 2-cell flashlight for long (according to the Am@zon reviewer). 3. I've bought many of the regular Tenergy brand AA and AAA batteries in the past. Over time, the variance in charge levels after just a few days (even though the batteries were charged at the same time) are greatly inconsistent. That doesn't do much in building trust in the brand for me. 4. It's already fishy to see that Tenergy markets these batteries as 2300mAH capacity. Every other LSD seller out there markets them as either 2000mAH or 2100mAH and (again based on bjohns findings) it's clear these Tenergy are only 2000/2100mah as well...That's some heck of a rounding-up of numbers there. |

Namuna said:The price is compelling but I'm going to take a pass on these, because: Namuna, I made an inquiry about these R2U low self discharge batteries on CPF last night, and somebody pointed out two links with somewhat in-depth analyses of them (link below). My interpretation of those links is that these batteries are quite good, certainly on par with any other Chinese-made LSD NiMH, and not too far off of the golden "Eneloop" standard. Indeed, the difference (capacity-wise) with the Eneloops is so small that you would probably only notice it if you were specifically trying to measure it. The observations in these links square with my experience with these batteries (I have been using 24 pieces of AA format since May). In my opinion and experience, $20 for 24 of these is quite compelling, and I have no hesitation recommending them. Here is the posting on CPF that points out the two somewhat in-depth reviews. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2711649&postcount=12 |

Yes - after it directs you to log in to your paypal account and choose your funding method, you are then taken back to the All-Battery checkout process before you submit your order. You enter the coupon code here (or next screen) on the All-Battery site. Do not enter the code in the paypal coupon code box - does not work as it is not a paypal code. |

Would anyone recommend, or not to use these with xbox 360 wireless controller? I'm new to the rechargaeble concept and see these at a great price for many applications. I use the cases to put AA in the back of the controller. |
