pretty good.

yeah, I couldn't find a better deal. I'm getting it...

bLah.. anyway to get free shipping from sonyrewards?

FYI it looks like you have to buy it from sonyrewards.com and they'll charge you shipping as stated in fine prints of that link.

total shipped for me is 283.50. should i bite. they gave me too much money anyway

This is a good deal, but is it any different from the Sony Credit Card deal which gives you $150?

It's different. You have to buy the PS3 from SonyRewards in order to get the $150 credit. It's instantly discounted when you click on the link to redeem it. Only downside is they charge $34.01 for shipping (that's to me). Another thing I've noticed is that if you spend $299 or more on a single transaction, you get 0% financing for that purchase for 12 months.

I hope they don't charge tax? If they charge tax separately, that would make the whole purchase $283.50 + tax on $399. So total cost would be $316.42.

Apparently you can buy the PS3 at a B&M location, so long as it's an "authorized retailer". Depending on your sales tax rate, it could be cheaper to pay tax on $399, not pay shipping, and get the $150 as a statement credit.

I'm going to wait for free shipping; as they offer it often on the Sony site.

this sounds like a good deal, but how about getting it from eBay and get 25% CashBack, which would make it to about $300. Then, the dollar difference is not that much now, but you don't have to apply for a new credit card. I got it from eBay when the CashBack was 30%, so it was even cheaper. Thanks for posting though.

how u get the 30%CashBack and hwo can u know the stuff u bought is not refurbished or something?btw, can u refer me the link u bought? thanks dude.

** I was half right it's a typo in their terms. They list it as 80GB then the next line they list as 60GB delivered**

Where did you see 80GB? In the fine print it says 60GB (If my eyes are reading correctly)

not bad at all, but i'd feel stupid having a ps3 and a 360. i wouldn't be able to decide between the two when i buy new games.

but the fact that ps3 plays bluray makes it more tempting.

They didn't. Tax was included. This is a good deal depending on how you look at it. The $150 credit is instant. There's no waiting for Sony to credit you $150 or for microsoft CashBack to clear. That takes what, 60 days I'm not sure so don't quote me on that. Total for me out the door was $343 because I got a game with it. Needed something to put it over the $299 promotional offer so I have 12 months to pay it off w/o interest.

Buying it from a B&M with tax only saves me $3. That's not including gas to go to the store and time spent to buy the PS3. And it's an 80gb PS3.

The Playstation Card is having 2 promotions. 1 for the blue ray and the other one is for buying at ANY authorized dealer. I'm thinking of signing up for the other promotion so I can "try" and buy the $199.99 PS3 Pirate Cbean. Little Big Planet bundle. (if I'm invited and can buy on Amazon). So it'll come out to $49 dollars with no tax and free shipping. *crosses finger*

Where can we see the offer which says 0% on purchases $299 or more? Also, is $299 before S/H or a total charge? TIA

anyone already apply the card and get one?

Tax wasn't included. If you look at the check out and your email confirmation. They charged 3401 point for shipping which comes out to 28400 points total, less 50 points which makes it 28350 points that they charge to your credit card = $283.50

They also state in the checkout and email confirmation that "Sales Tax: Assessed on catalog price before use of points." They didn't add any tax yet. I don't see anywhere that they already included tax. I just hope they don't include it.

Does anyone know how the PS3 blueray player compares with the better stand alone blueray players on the market? What features does it have or doesn't have compare to the others. Thanks.

The best thing about using the PS3 as a Blu Ray player is how fast it loads the movies. It literally takes about 10 seconds for a movie to start on the PS3, where it can take 30 seconds to up to 2 minutes to start on some stand alone Blu Ray players.

Good deal. Too bad Wally world wasn't giving out gift cards with this purchase as previous.

is it me or wasn't ps3 (60 gig) going for $299 a couple of weeks ago? did they stop making the 60 gig and now only sell the 80 gig for $100 more? i'm pretty sure i saw it for $299 did anyone grab it for that price and is 20 extra gig realy worth $100 more?

I have Samsung DLP (720). Do I really need 1080 in order to appreciate blu ray picture quality, or 720 is still good enough to enjoy it.
thanks

Been waiting for this one. Placed an order. Thanks OP.

Whoever gave me red is an idiot, and I will say this is insulting. If I cannot share my opinion, what is the point of having this forum?

You should ask the seller about if it is "refurbished or something", not me. Also, I am sorry, bcoz I got a red, I am not going to say anything more, but you should be able to figure out how to get the CashBack.

Yup. Got it. Now trying to find the best deal on PS3 and use this to get it.

Where on Sony reward website shows that PS3 purchase from Amazon is allowed for 150$ credit?
I dont see anywhere it shows any other authorised retailer for ps3 purchase to get the credit

thanks,

Applied, approved, ordered, and confirmed. Final price $283.50 shipped and no tax (tax was already assessed in the price). Now I'm just wondering if there are any free Blu-ray movie promo out there for purchasing the PS3.
