I just received word of a pretty cool deal that will happen between November 28th and December 1st.
Apparently you can go to Newegg.com or TigerDirect.com and purchase any of their pre-selected (they select good components for these) AMD GAME! upgrade kits at a value of $400 (or more) and you will receive $500 worth of Gasoline vouchers. That means you are in the green $100 when all is said and done. Pretty sweet.
There will only be 900 available (total) so make sure your Newegg and TD accounts are logged in on November 27th to make sure you can jump on it before they're all gone. If you were looking for a comp upgrade then you might as well get some gas money out of it as well, right?
Cheers,
-s
PS: AMD GAME! upgrade kits will probably consist of AMD processors/motherboards/video cards. I suspect there will be like combo packages with motherboard+processors or motherboard+graphics... something like how Newegg usually offers bundle pacakges.
PSS: This is totally worth it if you find a package of the motherboard+graphics as long as you get a motherboard that is compatible with AM3 (most of the better motherboards are). AMD will launch Phenom II at the end of December and they are pretty dang fast and great value for money. Processor + motherboard + video card = good performance, low price platform
only the Mwave promo talks about what exactly you need to buy and that $500 vouchers, td and Newegg didn't mention anything...looks like a really nice deal in times like this economical crisis
I got sucked into this gas voucher thing buying something else and boy am I pissed...its such a pain...I beleive what you will get is 5 $100 vouchers...with each voucher you go online and register it and you can only do one per month per household. Once you register the voucher you have to pick ONE gas station to go to and each month you have to mail in $100 worth of receipts from that gas station and in a few weeks they will send you a $25 gas card to use at that gas station (if you don't spend the $100 at that one station you lose your chance to get your $25 back)...so in a nutshell, in order to get your $500 in gas it will take you almost 2 yrs and $2000 spent on gas!!! (you have to spend $100 each month to get $25 back so it takes 4 months just to get $100 back...they make it so you can only register one voucher at a time) Heres the website I was directed to when I fell for this ridiculous deal... http://www.gasolineredemption.com/

Thanks for the warning. Will not consider such "deals".

Uh you mean like Tweeter who suckered many customers with this same gas voucher scam knowing Tweeter was going to file bankruptcy and would not be around for their customers to fulfill their promise.
Do you have to spend 100 every month, I have a Prius I fill up about once or twice a month, spending at worst 50 bucks, I do not come anywhere close to 100 bucks in a month. This deal seems pretty bad, I wish it was just a $500 gift card to shell or conoco.

Wow, that sucks. Thanks for warning the rest of us. I would have gone in too, had I not seen your timely post. Props to Tamagator.

1. If you take longer than 30 days to accumulate $100 in gas purchase receipts, do you forfeit the $25 gas card Yes, but only for that month. If you never spend more that $100 in any calendar month you may give your code to a family member or friend that does. Your code may NOT BE RESOLD under any circumstances. We do offer an alternate program where you may trade in your Gas Code for one of the available alternates. Acceptance of an alternate requires that you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the alternate and agree to pay any fees, taxes or government charges that may be associated with the alternate of your choice. Please contact us by email (click the 'contact us' link at the top of the page) and we will provide you with an Alternative List. Please put 'I DON'T DRIVE' in the subject line and include the -code you received with your name, address and phone number. Otherwise, you must accumulate $100 in gas/diesel/ethanol/bio-diesel/methanol/propane or other combustible fuel sold at the gas station brand of your choosing, and staple them to the voucher for that month.
2. If you take longer than 30 days to accumulate $100 in gas purchase receipts can you just send in the voucher with your receipts as soon as you get to $100
No. The companies subsidizing the Gas Program require us to submit the receipts each month to be reviewed, so you would forfeit the $25 gas card for that month. However, you may continue the program the following month by using the next voucher that you have received. Once again, if you don't spend $100 on gas in a month, please see above.

I think the only saving grace to the problem of not spending that much on gas each month is that you can take anyones receipt that has one from the gas station you chose and submit it...they really have no way of telling whether or not the gas was put into your car, anyone else's car in your household, a family member or even a friends car so I plan on letting some friends and family members know to keep their receipts for the next few months in case I don't spend the $100 at that gas station and/or at all for the month...

Good idea, pick a gas station on a common route then just stop by during some busy times, there are always receipts left over.

After you send them in and they say: "Oh, we didn't receive it", now what? Certified mail? I wouldn't jump on this deal

After reading complaints against a similar gas promotion on Fatwallet, I saved the previous text in my post, and am I'm removing it from here, while I try to research this promotion. Proceed with caution!
If you read their site for the official voucher, it states that you get a $25 card every month after having spent $100 in gas. It says it will be $25 a month over a 20 month period, and if you do *not* send in your $100 in receipts that month then you forfeit that month's card.
Their reason for giving it is to 'prove' to companies that giving 'free' gas will boost their sales.
I think you are to hard on them. Well just to inform you as of 4:30pm est. Tidewater Marketing was shut down by the Florida state attorney general. Do to an overwhelming number of complaints. Tidewater Marketing was shut down do to quote on quote unfair business practices and misleading the general public. I call bull. I have been with the program since January of last year. I complied with all their criteria every month and I have received a $25 gift card ever month since i began. Don't kick a dead horse. They were having computer problems for so long and then they were opening another facility to better help customers. I don't think they meant any harm. I believe they were trying to due something good for the country in a time of financial crisis. I have heard so many bad things about these people. But I have yet to see any harm done by them. I mean isn't a rebate program. I know from personal experiences that some rebates take as long as 18 months. Some of you seem to expect way to much from a company that provides a courtesy.
