It should be noted that this is a PC monitor, not a TV as I thought (from the 1080p in the title).
Low brightness, but still a good deal for a big high-res monitor.

tn, not worth it
but price is ok, it kills microcenter's deal

just bought the sva 24" MVA panel, for 223 on TigerDirect through live CB
the contrast ratio is 800:1, other than that, it's better than this one

1 year warranty only. - not worth IMO

K

So it "kills" microcenter's deal which is for the same monitor at $199 after rebate also?

you don't wait in line

Yea, thats not bad

But if you have dead/stuck pixels or excessive backlight bleeding (or just don't like the monitor), its easier to just return it to an actual store.

I'd never thought I'd see the day that people turn up their noses at a $200 24" monitor.

Also a smaller rebate and no tax also help.

HDMI = NO

DEAL = NO

At sub $200, how bad could it be?

Now that the fleabay market has crapped out its hard to see these as exceptional deals, 1080p without HDMI.

$249 at Costco with decent warranty.

LINQ

most credit cards extends warranty up to a yr

Why is HDMI a deal breaker? Or do you mean HDCP?

no kidding you got clonedvd you can play through your pc all day long using svga.

No tax for most of us. And you don't stand in line.

Costco price = $250 + $10 shipping + $tax

I have this monitor and I absolutely love it. Just me 2 cents

OOS. Got removed from my cart!!!!

I ordered like an hour ago and it went thru. I was debating between this and 22inch Samsung.

Got one at $250 awhile back. The VGA sucks ass without a LOT of adjusting but the DVI port looks amazing. No dead pixels. For PC gaming it's top notch.

Anyone having issues with this monitor? I got it on the Microcenter deal and can't keep it from being blurry no matter what the settings are. I hooked it up to a laptop that I know displays 1920 x 1200 great and it still looks blurry...

Got the monitor yesterday. So far it looks good.

2ms is very important for me. That is why I changed my 22" 5ms LCD for this one. I think same goes for most gamers.

According to http://www.letheonline.net/consumption.htm , it uses 25-45 watts. If what tiger wrote is true (Power Consumption: 320W ), this Spectre will pay for itself on electric usage.

the problem with being picky about response time is that the stat you're looking for doesn't describe what you'r really trying to get. Most response times today are grey-to-grey not black-to-white or white-to-black like they used to use. A 2ms grey-to-grey monitor might have no ghosting on a medium lit scene with even colors but could have severe ghosting on a dark scene with a bright object moving in it or a bright scene with a dark object moving. Whereas a 5ms black-to-whit monitor might have much less ghosting on bright and dark scenes and perform as well in medium lit scenes.

Using grey-to-grey response times as a measurement is like measuring a car's 0-60mph gong down a steep hill.... while it may be measuring something, it's not measuring it the way you'd want it to be.

I think response time is being treated the same way 'dyanmic' contrast ratio is. Once the manufacturers realized people were nitpicking on a certain spec, they started changing the way they measured the spec so they could artifically inflate the numbers and sell more.

i got this from costco $249 plus $9 shipping and tax.

Sure it is more money but it has a 90 day throw it back and two year fully covered.

Looks great. color good. and great for gaming. world at war and TF2 both look great (tf2 is a bright colour fest and W@W has much more subtle hues. No blur no ghost.

There is a single line that off sets by a couple of pixels every so often(goes away if I turn the screen off and on ) if I cant resolve the issue costco will be kicking in. And thus the insurance of costco strikes again

do games have 1920x1080 resolution settings?
