Good deal on a PS3, though remember tax in most states which brings the total discount to about 15-10% (Still pretty good)

i think if you have discover card, you can shop at Dell for 5% off

there's a bundle with far cry 2 only $399 for even better deal

maybe the playstation credit card offer for "$150 back at authorised dealers" will work too for those who havent gotten one yet

styleza said: there's a bundle with far cry 2 only $399 for even better deal

Adding the coupons removes the instant rebate on the Bundle, so you can't do it.

Good deal. I will most likely go through with this deal than the other one where you have to sign up for the Playstation credit card.

Did worked for me. Thanks

when's the offer ends?

styleza said: there's a bundle with far cry 2 only $399 for even better deal

good call

styleza said: there's a bundle with far cry 2 only $399 for even better deal

Bundle w/ Far Cry 2 doesn't stack with 15% + 5%. It changes price to $459.98 in shopping cart.

This also works on PSP 2000.

Doesn't work on Far Cry bundle since it eliminates the existing 60$ off.

worked for me.. tax was like 19 bucks.. got the ps3.. finally... somehow..

Just ordered one, came out to $346 with tax. Combined with the Playstation card discount and FatCash, the total will be well under $200!

How did you get the PS Card deal to work with this?

I put in my card number, expiration date, etc. that came up after I filled out the application and Dell's checkout accepted it. Dell is listed as an authorized online retailer, so it should work.

Great! Thanks!

But doesn't the sale price have to be $399? I think that with Dell's deal, the sale price is whatever the residual is once the coupons are taken off.

Can someone else confirm this?

I bought a PS3 partly for the Blu Ray DVD player. Now I think that was a mistake. Blu Ray DVD's cost on average $10 more, and public libraries have none in stock.

Have you considered something like NetFlix?

I'm concerned by this on the Sony site:
http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/offers/index/ps3shopnow

At the bottom:
Instant credit and immediate use of the PlayStation Card is only available at SonyRewards.com. The $150 credit will be directly applied during the online purchase process at SonyRewards.com.

Dell checkout will of course accept the card, because it's a normal credit card, but I wouldn't expect to see that $150.

Thanks OP. Ordered one with my new PlayStation Card which I received today by mail (nice timing).
It should be ~$180 after taxes/credit/CashBack.
P.S. Called Sony to confirm the "Authorized Retailer" thing. They agree that the offer page does state "any" and Dell is one.

Hmmmm, no offense but didn't you realize this before you bought it? It's a new technology. It isn't mainstream yet. Look at when DVD was just coming into the market against VHS. The same type of situation.

Click here and then on the superscript "1" at the end of the first paragraph.

I just got approved for my Sony Playstation card 3 days ago and should be arriving in the mail soon. I was one of the unfortunate ones that didn't get the 16 digits immediately after approval. I'll try it with this deal and see if it works. If it doesn't work I'll get it from Sonyrewards.com for $249 w/Sony card +tax = $283. If the Sony card works with this deal the grand total including tax and free shipping should be $206 out the door.

Try it first and let us know if it works. I'm seeing alot of "should be, could be, and would be". Not really sure where you're getting the 180 number but if you apply the -$150 (w/Sony card) from $399 you get $249 and you take that and apply your coupons you should come to about $216 and this total includes tax and f/s.

Some of you are applying the -$150 towards $322 after applying the coupons but if Dell allows the -$150 it would only work from $399-150 first then the coupons.

VenkatAtWallet said: They agree that the offer page does state "any" and Dell is one.

Agreeing that the offer page states Dell is an authorized dealer is one thing. Accepting the -$150 from the price is another. Try it and let us know how it went. I'm sure Dell will take the Sony card number because it's just like any credit card number but WILL THEY honor the -$150 is the question.

wish Dell didn't charge tax - wishful thinking!

Your math "skills" are suspect, to say the least.

$399 - 15% - 5% = ~$322
$322 + tax ($20-$25) = ~$345
$345 - $150 = $195
$195 - 3% FatCash (roughly $10) = $185

Furthmore, it isn't Dell that has to "allow" anything. The $150 offer is from Sony, and VenkatAtWallet has indicated onthis forum that he called and confirmed that purchasing the PS3 for an amount over $299 at a authorized retailer qualifies.

Quoted from the site:

Sony said: The $150 credit will be directly applied during the online purchase process at SonyRewards.com.

This offer is non-transferable and is limited a one-time use.

Purchase must be made by 3/7/09 - (even though it doesn't specify where, I'm guessing they mean SonyRewards.com)

That should be your red flag.

I doubt that getting your $150 will be automatic, or easy, but keep us posted, eh?

I doubt it as well, but do keep us posted. Been waiting to buy PS3 for awhile...

good deal thx.

It showed up $322 for me. But I already have one.

msrp has to be 399

This has already been discussed on the other PS3 $150 offer forum. It's saying that the $249 price is based on an MSRP of $399, not that the minimum purchase price is $399. CSR's have confirmed that as long as the purchase price is over $299, you're OK.
