I've got to chime in and say it's refreshing to not be hearing all about the g*ddam Wii this Chritmas season. Good riddance! |

VenkatAtWallet said:Thanks OP. Ordered one with my new PlayStation Card which I received today by mail (nice timing). It should be ~$180 after taxes/credit/CashBack. P.S. Called Sony to confirm the "Authorized Retailer" thing. They agree that the offer page does state "any" and Dell is one. Did it take long to receive your card? I would think they would rush these out as fast as they can before Christmas. My fingers are crossed hoping this will combine with the Dell deal to make this a super hot deal. |

Sony CSR is now telling people you have to buy it through sonyreward.com in order for the $150 credit to work, take a look here Link how do they verify you actually got a ps3 not something else (like $400 of Dell or Amazon gift card) if you don't go through sonyrewards.com |

how do they verify you actually got a ps3 not something else if you don't go through sonyrewards.com I think it may fly - since $150 could be coming from Chase - and it's kind of a sign on bonus (like w/Chase Sony card) - and offer clearly states from any authorized retailer!!! Good luck! |

I will call Sony CSR myself tomorrow, if you purchased a PS3 from Amazon, on statement, it simply say $399.99 charge, it does not state you purchased a ps3, what if I simply buy $399.99 worth of Amazon gift card ? |

Just applied through http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/gateway/?offerlink=150newps3 Got approved instantly, but didn't get CC number (or any kind of ID number) online Said I'll get my card in two weeks. Dam! Oh well, been meaning to get this card anyways. Just hoping now that WalMart will have another PS3 deal. |

I hope I get my card in 2 weeks, and PS3 deal show up. On the Sony card thread, it mentioned first puchase has to be done before 12/13/08 to get $150 credit. |

I've been checking the forums on this deal, and there are 2 Sony credit card deals. They both have the $150, but if you sign up through the Sony Rewards one, you can only buy from sonyrewards.com. The other card, you can get from any authorized dealer. |

I signed up back in July for the one that was $100 credit to the statement on purchase of PS3 (did not say SonyStyle) and got it at WalMart. I already got the $100 credit without even having to call them. Let me see if I can hunt down the link for that offer. Edit: Link for $150 Statement Credit Sony Visa Card Offer |

Here are the actual details about the promotion(s). This information is given by a very knowledgeable CSR at Sony (who was even reading out the URL's) ============================================================================================ 1. http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/gateway/?offerlink=sr150nowps3 a. Apply for the Playstation credit card. b. Receive the credit card number and CVV2 number upon approval. b. Purchase a PS3 (using the account and CVV2 numbers) at sonyrewards/SonyStyle and get $150 instant credit. c. You will also be eligible for a B1G1 Blu-Ray movie ============================================================================================ 2. http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/gateway/?offerlink=150newps3 a. Apply for the Playstation credit card. b. Receive your Playstation credit card by mail. c. Activate your card by calling the number on the card. d. Purchase a PS3 at any authorized retailer. Note: You can purchase PS3 at any authorized retailer even at a discounted price, but I guess it should be at least $299 or more e. Register your card here. Note: It could take up to 48 hours for your card to be recorded in their database after card activation f. Upon registration, you will receive a MIR form by email for a $150 statement credit. Note: It could take up to 48 hours to receive the MIR form g. Complete/Submit the rebate form and wait for 8-12 weeks to get the $150 statement credit. ============================================================================================ With either promotion: You will have no annual fee, full Visa Platinum benefits and double your warranty protection. |

I'm thinking about using method 2 so I can buy from Dell through OP's deal. But, I would have to wait for the Sony Card to be sent to me before I can buy from Dell. Are the OP's coupon codes going to good by the time I get the new card? When do those coupon codes expire? |
