My always came up as record not found in database I was approved online, received my account # and temporary CVC #. Had to wait about 2 days before I could successfully register card at SonyRewards (and create my online account at Chase). Bought my PS3 at Dell after 3 separate phone calls with Sony when they convinced me that Dell was an authorized retailer and the $150 credit was valid for purchases there. Sony CSR stated that the rebate form would be emailed, and would need to be completed and sent in with a copy of the receipt within 60 days to be eligible for statement credit. Fingers crossed .... but, I think there's enough verbiage in the web pages about "any authorized Sony retailer" that getting the statement credit should be a relatively easy fight to win, if one is necessary. |

wingz, can you post a link to the rebate form? I thought we just had to spend X amount (299? 399?) of dollars and then we will be credited the $150. |

As detailed in previous posts: If you purchase directly from SonyStyle, the statement credit is automatic. If you purchase from an authorized Sony retailed, (as I understand it), you have to submit documentation (via rebate/credit request form) to Sony to have the statement credit applied. I'm still waiting for the email with the rebate form, but, after you register your ID and credit card on SonyRewards.com, there is an option under "Your Account" to "View Purchase Credit Form" which gets filled-out online, printed, and then mailed. This may be the same as the rebate form. Dunno ... |

I called Sony and asked them about getting the 150 back (I talked to 3 different people). They said you can only do this if you buy the Playstation 3 direct from them. It will not work if you buy it anywhere else-- authorized dealer or not. |

Strange...I called them as well and explained that I had ordered a PS3 through Dell with my new Sony Visa card and wanted to see if my $150 credit was automatic, or if I had to mail in a rebate form. He put me on hold, checked with a supervisor, and then said he saw that I was eligible for the $150 credit, and that it would appear on my statement approximately 4-6 weeks after the purchase. He also confirmed that Dell was an authorized dealer and that the purchase qualified. Hope the information I received is correct. |

It says in plain English "any authorized dealer." I don't think Sony CS knows what they are talking about.
He's the documentation on the Playstation Visa (150newps3 offer) in case someone needs it.

They are telling you this because there are TWO different offers. One offer you can sign up for is just for SonyStyle or SonyStyle.com, and the other offer is for any authorized dealer - (Amazon.com, Wal-Mart, Dell, etc...) Sounds like they are confused and assuming you signed up for the first offer. |
