My 4 years old daughter loves Mario Kart. It's probably the only game that she plays on the Wii. I thought she would like Animal Crossing. She did like the graphics and learned about buying/selling, but her little thumb has problem navigating with the nunchuk. |

To those shopping for others, here's a few suggestions from a preschool teacher, parent of 4th-11th grade, and mild gamer: I'm a big fan of ign.com for reviews, but if shopping for a preschooler then keep in mind a low review may not apply to you, it just may be built simple to fit the target audience. Read the full review as well as buyer reviews to find out the details. Preschool set: Elebits is fun and starts easy, getting progressively harder to the point I eventually stopped playing bc I couldn't beat a level. That's a good thing imho. They can have fun with it for a month this year, bring it out in 1-2 yrs and it'll be a whole new game, bring it out 2 yrs later if the Wii hasn't been upgraded and you've got continued playability. Just don't allow them to get in the habit my dd does in asking others to complete the hard tasks to move on. Preschool titles like Dora or Diego and especially Freddi Fish if you haven't already bought it for PC. (Mind you I have never played the first two) Wii sports (included w/ console) can go a long way for little ones. Bowling was all my kids favs the year the Wii came out (1st Christmas luck) so you can adjust the ages, but that game took more playing time then any $50 title they got for a good year. Taking a guess that Namco museum Remix might fit here since the directions may still be simpler then new high technology games. Wii Music? (Must buy Maracas, lol)(or skip the game and just buy real maracas for $5!) Petz/Dogz/Horsez? (We have Dogz2 but I haven't watched it to know the difficulty) Tween/teen yrs: Depends alot on their general personality, gaming habits, and patience/frustration level. In general, based on my experience w/ a gaming 15 yo son and less experienced 12 yo girl: Mario Galaxy Zak and Wiki (have heard great things but yet to try it) Animal Crossing (not if they're all blood and guts fans, but even my son enjoyed the GC version at age 12) Guitar Hero- wifi good when they get experienced enough to compete Zelda (more experienced gamers?) Mario Kart Monkey Ball Mario Party (if they don't already have multiple similar titles from older consoles) Super Paper Mario Im new here so hope this isn't out of line answering the questions that aren't related to deals. |

luvagooddeal said:1 PM PST deal is We Ski for Wii for $19.99. Regular 29.99 It figures, my pre-thanksgiving TRU sale of buy one get one $20 off purchase was Disney Sing It and Wii Ski. Bought the Sing It today figuring I'd just exchange it for Mario Kart or a cheaper game, but if I get the Ski it may be more difficult to exchange since it was a $29 title and then $20 off. REally need DS or PSP games if anything after all these Amazon deals. Hmmm, to purchase or not... |

Great post abadubs. I agree with everyone that Z&W is a fantastic game for teens/adults, but a 4 year old would not be able to do much. It is a "thinking man's" game. The same could be said for Metroid Prime 3, though their styles are very different. For little kids, I think Diego looks great and it's cheap. My nephew would like it, but he's getting a lot of V-Tech games this Christmas. |
