Already got this on disc, but came in to say this album, to me, is worth 100 times that. Which explains why I have allowed myself to replace it each time it was lost.

In fact, my son asked me just the other day which one album would I want on a desert island. It took me .002 sec to reply. He already knew the answer anyway, that buster.

If you can gloss over some of the more over-produced tracks, this is top notch. Forget for the moment the ideal of Band of Gypsys, and Hendrix's notion of the perfect jam band. His early blues work is the most valuable.

Nothing is more electric church heavy than
"I have a hummingbird and it hums so loud
<wail>
You think you a losin your mind."

/steps off music soapbox

props to the OP for recognition of this classic.

I'm in. I've never heard it, so I guess I'm in for a treat. I keep thinking if record companies and retailers would make more unprotected MP3s available at cheap prices, more people would own them legally. I've purchased 3-4 albums from Amazon in a month, and that's almost as many as I purchased last year.

Here's what the original album cover looked like:

Thanks! Remember if you bought electronics from Amazon in the last month or so, they have had a promotion for free $5 in downloads

Even Bob Dylan says Jimi's version of All Along The Watchtower is the best ever done.

I'm so in! Amazon sent me a $5 credit for MP3's a week or 2 back so it's FREE!
As someone who purchased $25 worth of products from Amazon's Music or Electronics Stores between November 28, 2008 and December 25, 2008, you've qualified for a $5 promotional credit good for music downloads from Amazon MP3, Amazon.com's digital music service.
I just burned it to a CD for my car...I cant wait to leave for work in the morning to listen to it, haven't heard in in a long while. Wait, did I just say I cant wait to go to work ???

Original UK cover that is...it didn't pass muster in the USA circa Nov. 1968

Thanks, although I feel like I am stealing paying only $1.99 for this!

JameyF said:if record companies and retailers would make more unprotected MP3s available at cheap prices I agree. I have been buying so much music, both new stuff and from my past it's unreal. Unfortunately the DRM that Apple insists on imposing (plus their charging more than Amazon) has held me off until now. Their annoying DRM is too much of a PITA to deal with, so I just quit buying music. I wonder if Wall Street has taken note yet?
