Deluxe ID TheftBlock helps fight Identity Theft with the following services:
• Monitoring with Notify Express, a fraud detection system that checks your credit file every business day and alerts you to specific changes that may indicate identity theft or fraud.
• Credit Report from Equifax so you can check your report for inaccurate information.
• Toll-free access to our Fraud Resource Center to provide help if you suspect fraud.
• Deluxe check order screening notifies you of check orders placed on your account with a request for a name or address change to help prevent fraudulent check orders.
shahn18 said: need SSN Exactly! but this is a fairly old company and they are providing Id theft solutions to lots of banks. Thanks OP. Hope the deal will be valid in future unlike the last Equifax deal.
Most of the news articles about Checkfree.com getting hacked also mention that Deluxe ID TheftBlock is the company that will provide credit monitoring for possible victims.
I jump!! thanks OP!! nowdays ID theft is everywhere.

I think this could end up being a problem, I got the message telling me I'm a potential victim of the Checkfree hack. When I was given the code they told me it was only intended to be used by me and would be validated by the email address that the warning was sent to. I would not want to get caught messing with Checkfree, They could make it very hard for you to use bill pay.
Here is a part of the email that was sent to me:

The codes you were given to download McAfee and Deluxe ID Theft Block Plus software were provided to you for your personal use only for the specific remedial purposes set forth in this email. You are prohibited from distributing or sharing such codes. Any distribution or sharing of such codes could constitute fraudulent activity.
I'm skeptical. I'd love to jump in but I have a feeling something negative could come of this once they realize the codes were made public. Keep in mind once you give them all your personal information, it's not exactly difficult to figure out who was legitimately meant to receive the free monitoring code and who was not.

I got a similar e-mail except mine is offering only the McAffee("We have arranged with McAfee, the world's largest dedicated security technology company, to provide you with an assessment of your computer's hard drive and remove any malicious software.") I'm not concerned since I was not on their system during the times they say the problem occured. Still, odd about the 2 different e-mails.

So? These are generic codes. And the verbiage says that whoever received the code would be committing fraud if they made it public, not those that used it. Generic codes are not enforceable nor traceable, and there's no way for anyone to track who released it to the public domain. Their rhetoric would have teeth if they were one-time use or personalized codes. Gimme a bread about "they could make it very hard for you to use bill pay." Huh??? There's no problem.

And what about those that never had an account with Checkfree? I would think even though its a generic code it was at least meant for a certain audience.

No kidding; I can't believe someone couldn't figure this out.
this is my point:

No kidding, I can't believe some FWers couldn't figure this out, especially when you just saw a webpage asking for all your personal information. Don't you have even a little hesitation?
Nice find. Signed up myself and my wife. It's probably not something I'd pay for, but the service they provide is useful. 1) they email me for a variety of fraud like behavior and 2) I can see my current credit report from Experian for the next two years. The info they require is the same that myFICO or any of the other credit monitoring services ask for - so not too unusual.
I was worried about this site but did some digging on whois and the site is owned by Deluxe Enterprise Operations, Inc. who are known to print checks and among other stuff. Not sure why this site looks so homemade but their main site looks professional and it's a publicly traded company.
Looks like this won't replace my paid sub with IdentityGuard from Costco. It's pretty basic and only monitors one credit bureau. The plus is that it has the check monitoring which mine doesn't.
