I posted this on SD, but have a place in my heart for FatWallet.

Amazon is selling the Mitsubishi HC1600 Home Theater 720p Projector for $750. There is a rebate available for $100 and an Additional Bulb.

Edit: It is showing $817.57 from Amazon as the seller as of 5 pm EST 1/5/09. However, Amazon prices often fluctuate, so it may come back down before the rebate expires on 1/31/09

Showing $803 now unless I click on the "used and new" link and choose the one from Amazon, then still $750.

It says it ships in 2-5 weeks. That could spell trouble since the rebate must be postmarked within 30 days of purchase.

I was looking at the monoprice projector screens, any recs on what size to go with? I have a 16x22 rectangle basement 8' ceiling, unfinished but finishing soon, I'm putting a screen at one end and a bar at the other, what is the best size/picture quality ratio for a projecter like this? Monoprice has electric ones at 108 inches or 135 in 16x9 Thanks!

Anybody know of a place that I can buy a warranty for this thing without paying an arm or a leg?
