to use this coupon!

Buy oil and filter for 9.99 then DIY at your place, not at Pepboys place.

cohcoh said: How do u do DIY oil change at pepboys? It means they have a bundle for oil (4 or 5 qts) and an oil filter deal, hence, DIY oil change.

proline? is that their store brand? can we get a name brand?

Man, I was just there 2 hours ago. Brought $25.00 worth of stuff. Got to go back get refund and repurchase with coupon.

How about a 10% off coupon that never expires? See this thread.

that's awesome. time to stock up on ALL the oil filters... it'll be like 5 PureOnes for $20!

Good find. I wonder why I did not get these...they usually send me through email. GREEN!

I wish they would let me use their jack and I change my own oil. I would pay them more than full service rate if they let me do it.

Nice find..Need to tune up my truck @ $5 bucks a plug that 2 4 FREE w/the 10 off 30...Thanks!

Sure, their insurance company would probably not have a problem with that at all.

So, how much does the 5 quarts of oil and filter cost?
Thanks.

Haven't got any cheap syn. oil for a while. Any deals these days? TIA.

I've never seen proline at other auto stores. However, on my car, their proline PPL24457 filter is exactly the same as the purolator L24457.

PB=no good deals on oil in months...thats why I had to buy a case almost at retail today.

You can buy a Supertech at wallyworld for 2.87 all day along with 1.18 per qt. for oil.
Supertech is a qualify brand. I use it in all my cars including my STI. The $10 off $30 is pretty good.

what is the best way to get the darn oil filter off a 2001 Lexus IS300? That darn thing is in such an odd angle and there isn't much space to work with in the engine bay!

Is it a better deal if you use the $13.00 oil change rebate instead? Would be nice if coupon + rebate could be combined.

Where can you buy a jimmy ... it the tool to unlock your car when you lock your keys in your car. what is the correct name for this item and if you know where I could purchase one please let me know asap.

It's called a slim jim and it's illegal to own one in some parts of the country unless you are a licensed locksmith. For example if you get pulled over for a traffic ticket and a cop sees it in your car you could be charged with possession of burglary tools. Check your local area for the laws on this where you live.

thanks! just in time for my oil change...green for you OP!

My WMT charges something like $1.59 qt for SuperTech conventional... oil hasn't come down yet to match the drop in crude/gasoline pricing... Most of WalMarts oil is produced by Warren Performance Products (at least for the southeast US) .. it's good ... check the bottom of the oil bottles ,, should have WPP or another manufacturers mark.. I believe their filters are made by Purolator which is also good quality although I always bought Delco filters back when they carried them.

There's two people I don't trust changing my oil - Pep Boys and myself.

As Namlook said you can get in trouble for owning one in some states ,, also you will find that the slim-jims sold for the most part are very low quality and that most modern cars (built in the last 20 years) have guards inside the door protecting against the use of a slim jim ,, it's not 1969 anymore... best course of action is to get a spare key and silicone glue it somewhere you can reach,, maybe inside a bumper cover ,, a few minutes peeling away silicone debris and you're driving again..

god point in your review about the fram filters, they always have sharp edges or metal shavings waiting to come off. i buy OEM for my mitsubishi at a discount so i'm good there, but always looking for cheap oil.

Just came back after changing my oil... Total after tax: $25.16

Do you have to buy an oil filter in order to use the 10 off DIY coupon? I just want the oil (and my filters cost $10 ea).

Anybody know why a quart of motor oil now cost $3 when it use to be half that, and barrel of oil dropped from $140 to $40. There haven't been any oil sales with rebate for months and months, use to be able to get a case @ 59 cents a qt or less after rebate.

LMAO

Not a bad deal if you don't have to buy the filter

I always take bottom cover off and do it from there.

FYI, the link in the original post is still good. Just went there and printed of the $10 off $30 and expiration is 02/28/09

Skipping 5 Messages...

Used mine Saturday on some of the nice but overpriced Rain-X Latitude windshield wipers.

$20.99 each x 2 minus $10 off $30 minus MIR for B1G1 Free, should be about $13 for the pair in the end.
