I'm not sure why so many of us are getting messages that our e-mail addresses have been used, but there it is. I do have another, so I downloaded and ran it and quite frankly I don't see the value. It says I need a new driver for my video card, my keyboard, my mouse and a usb bridge. All of these are working just fine, and I am a firm believer that if it works, don't fix it. I'll pass, but thanks for the offer anyway. |

sinoke said:i'm running on windows 7 right now and i didn't manually install any drivers! It found them all automatically and works like a charm OK, so how did you get Windows 7? Every link I have is a dead end. I have a new laptop with that (*******) Vista and I would dearly love to replace it before I lose my temper and adjust it with a hammer. |

if your current drivers work, updating can actually cause problems, I'd stay away from this. |

I think they have blocked anonoymous email accounts like gmail hotmail etc. |

heres the thing with drivers, yes they may seem like they are working fine now, but as far as updates go, it can actually make your system more stable, your hardware *communicate* faster and more efficiently and overall make the hardware do more, (or less) depending on the vendor. Saying you wont update because its working fine might seem like a good idea, but when it comes to graphics and say hard drive controllers, updates are actually a godsend... Windows 7 seems to fix most gripes with drivers as it updates automatically on first boot. but when you dont have an initial wifi or network card driver working properly, a service like driveragent or windows7's auto update can't do anything for you. My suggestion is always keep your driver discs in a case and always have it readily available, or use driverpacks.net and other driver disks images found on certain torrent sites. it still bugs me as to why a hardware device cant have a little space leftover to actually store its INITIAL working driver so a system can read it without having to have a disk. especially when it comes to harddrive or flash devices. WTH is wrong with vendors and pc manufacturers. it seems like a given to me... personally I would stay away from driveragent because they cant just make it open for a couple of days, they have you sign up and in turn get your email address. Its a time waster that puts me off software like this. if it was actually free for 3 days id download it just to see what it would say about my system. in turn recommending it to less techy people i encounter pretty much everyday. now have they not only lost me as a *potential* advertiser but also as an avid sh*t talker on fatwallet about their service. |

or just torrent it. I looked at the terms of use. The use of the software ends 8/1/9 then you either have to go back to the previous version or purchase the software. Seems like a hassle to me as you only have 7 months left. Am I missing something here? Are we obligated to buy the release software at that point if we want W7? |

Who would want to pay for that money when you can download the driver free from other website. |

Just a warning to not so expert users. Many of the drivers it found as "newer" were in fact older than what was installed. I'm not sure why they can't compare version numbers to see what's newer. It simply assumes that it has the newest version, and if your PC's version doesn't match that, it flags it as old. Of the 4 drivers it recommended updating, the wireless broke my wireless card (got it working by rolling back) and it did help me with my HP laptop's remote, so its a mix in the bag. |

Some of the drivers are not very accurate. Even after I update them, the scan still shows some errors. This isn't a reliable software. Rather, consider it a supplement that you need to evaluate. |

Same reason you pay for Internet even though you can get it free at the coffee shop down the street. I'd like to see how long you can get free internet without paying for anything else, or would you be the one sitting in your car? |

You're kidding right? You've never heard of Phoenix Technologies? Wow. |

I know this is the wrong forum for this but I am sure one of you can help me then I will disappear. I did these downloads including the video driver hoping my computer would re-enable its ability to wake out of sleep mode. As it is now, upon waking it either does nothing or goes near the blue sceen of death or a jagged bunch of lines. The drives work and I can hear the hard-drive clicking, however, nothing. Control, alt, delete brings up nothing and I have to hold the poer botton in to shut down & reboot. IE keeps locking up on me as well... very frustrating. It's Vista, btw. Thank you friends |
