SakiMartini said:How about limiting the amount of "red" each person can give? The criteria could be for every "green" you give someone, then you have a credit for a "red" you can use. Fair enough that if you are really participating in this forum that you should give and take.
This will hopefully help people really think about whether the deal is red before they click it. And for those negatives out there that just likes to red everything, well then they obviously have no red credit to use, cause they probably don't like giving green to anyone.
Too many times I've read a deal and either read or wondered myself...why is this red? Just because a deal is not for me personally doesn't make it a bad deal. not a bad idea but a i think credit 1 red for every 10 green might make fw a happier place. |

please make sure that when a logged-in user clicks through any hot deal and conducts a successful trade transaction with an eligible merchant, she automatically gets the CashBack. Many users fall in the trap of the current method which requires users to go through the CashBack program page. Of course, anything that the users loose is a gain for the Fatwallet in such case. By providing an automated CashBack through the hotdeals forum's thread itself, fatwallet can prove that it is really for the customers |

Idea: integrated Reseller Ratings (or implement FatWallet's own version) in the Quick Summary box to show the ratings of the linked/referenced online sellers. This would warn FW members of sellers with "questionable business practices" or history of problems (eg. 1saleaday) before hastily jumping on a "deal" that may turn into a frustrating buying experience. |

How about a search option like google has, where as you type in a word(s) to search for, several variations of that word appears below the search line. Example: You type in LCD (in the search box on FW) Below the search line, simliar search terms appear, like LCD TV LCD monitor LCD projector I don't know the application setup behind google's search dropdown, but it lists the number of results next to each similiar search word. Would help in finding deals posted from a FW-er about a specific store, or a specific brand name. Hhelpful when someone mis-spells words in their post's subject line or when there are multiple search choices for the same store or item. Example: yuo are searching on Home Depot (2 words) and someone just posted a deal but used the subject line wording of Homedepot (1 word) |

With reps and with overall thread rating any poster gets to rate the thread only once and is mroe fair system.
I can't understand why FW has never implemented that... almost every other forum site has that system... and yes drift towards SD is noticable, and deals show up on FW way later with thansk to SD... Actually I love FW because of the Red/Green system. It makes threads so fun too read! I just look at the massive green and massive reds and know all I need Remember a couple years ago when FW took away the RED and started the "Boost" system (only green was allowed)? People freaked out and left FW and then they re-implemented the red/green system. I'd love the addition of Rep points ... but don't take away our red!! |

I still find FW one of my favorite websites and it is where I start every time I need to buy something. I wish the Fat Cash were easier to use. I have purchased hundreds of items that I've found here, but have only done 6 or 8 Fat Cash 'rebates'. I don't know if FW gets credit for every time I click through and buy from an OPs link, but I don't get much. Live.com CashBack isn't much better, but that's where I go when I see a significant item to purchase. cheers. |

Encourage quality post is key. Some ideas are: 1. Fat cash for posts that have a lot of green and click through. 2. Elevated status/privilege for quality posters. Allow them to maintain blog. 3. Develop contributor/editor for quality content-life style and bargain hunting tips. |

Finding which products I want. One of the most interesting aspects of FW is that I often find out about things I've never heard about, never thought I would want, or would have never thought were worth anything. E.g. Buffalo routers, polk speakers, Lodge cookware, NEC/BENQ dvd roms, etc etc. It's unfortunate we have to wait for a deal for something to be posted. So I suggest that we should have a forum where people post their favorite products, even if they can't find a deal. The hard part would be keeping it from being filled with commonplace things. Maybe the green/red rating would separate the wheat from the chaff though... |

I haven't read all the posts (so this may be a re-run) but a frustration point for me are B&M deals that aren't available where I live. Some type of localization engine might be nice - perhaps one could search/browse on whether a B&M deal is "confirmed" in their local area or not by having successful FW'ers associate their ZIP codes with the post to confirm the locality of a deal. Some type of "refer a friend" incentives... I always talk up Fatwallet and am now known as the "purchasing consultant" in some of my circles... but, the more people the better! Word-of-mouth is the way people find out about this site, encouraging more of it would be big... maybe the referral incentives can be tied to the new member posting highly-rated deals within a set period of time. |

JoeDeals said:Nuke that annoying GD yellow-haired bastard that keeps popping up at the bottom of the screen. +10 I resisted the Modern view for a long time. A couple of weeks ago I switched over to it. There is a javascript problem that causes massive memory usage on Firefox. After about half an hour my browser slows to a crawl. I really tried to stick with it, thinking maybe the problem lie elsewhere, but the Modern view was most definitely the cause. You might want to look into that. I'd like to see some sort of moderated product reviews at FW. Something I could trust a la Consumer Reports. Looking for unbiased reviews online for ANYTHING is an exercise in futility. Just try doing a Google net-wide search for anything having to do with batteries, cellphones or camera equipment and you'll see what I mean in about 2 seconds. |

One of the things I frequently forget is to check for Cash Back. It would be ideal that if a user is logged in, the stores which are automatically hyper linked in the threads and available in the "Cash Back & coupons" list, are hyper linked with the Cash Back URL instead. |

rollover preview panes in the forums so I can scan the info on a deal without having to click each link. More thorough posting guidelines for titles would help too. off in the distance, customizable homepage...a MyFatwallet if you will. Can add feeds from whatever forums, add price searchs, CashBack info, etc. |

Deals with alot of Green but are DEAD should be rated down somehow. It's annoying to see a good deal with lots of green, wade through the posts only to find it's not valid ^^^ this ^^^ |

It would be nice if you could subscribe to an RSS for *any* thread. Right now only a few select forums are available as RSS feeds. I really like keeping track of things on my Google home page and local RSS reader software I run that alerts me when new things come up, and wish some of my fav. threads could be subbed there. The email alerts are an option but I prefer to have an RSS feed since it doesn't clog up my inbox and alerts me the same way. EDIT: Even better would be able to subscribe to an RSS feed of a search result! |

I'd love the addition of Rep points ... but don't take away our red!! Not sure where the guys were running to to mark threads as Red... no one else (hot deals forum) has that... Actually reading your note reminds me and makes it clear that many people are on FW just to mark other Red / green - it's just a political statement, and does not add any real value in terms of helping each other on the site. |
