Is there a better version that is pushing the price down? These things are amazing, I'm just wondering what else I can get if I pay more. I know bluetooth is an option I've heard is extra. Thanks!
I almost ordered a Lenovo S10 last night. ( 512mb/80GB/3 cell battery ) With this Asus ( 1GB / 160GB / 6 cell ), I might get lucky w/ extra $40 rebate.

Both Intel and nVidia have announced their next gen netbook chipset that are driving the price of the current 945 based netbook price down.

Really appreciate the post, I've been searching the web for the past few hours looking for a good price on this unit. I was originally checking out the Acer Aspire but this one blows that away from all the research I've done. Thanks again!!!

From wikipedia:
In February 2009, Asus unveiled the 1000HE, using the new Intel Atom 280 processor with a 10" LED-lit screen, 6-cell battery, 160GB HDD, bluetooth, and 802.11n.
At CES 2009 Asus presented the T91 and the T101H models which will feature a multitouch trackpad and a convertible touchscreen. The models are said to be available within the first quarter of 2009.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the 1000HE that will sport a battery life of up to 9.5 hours and won't stick out underneath the netbook like most other 6-cell batteries. Good find though!

ive never bought from ZipZoomfly...are they reputable?
After contemplating it for a good 30 minutes I bit. I'm either going to sell the laptop I'm currently using to a friend or give it to my sister. Her desktop is quite old and a Dell. I was nervous about not being able to do the touchscreen mod on the 1000HA, but after some searching I found other people that had done so with this model. So in 5-7 days I'll have a laptop that actually fits into my messenger bag.
3.2 lbs. How is that this thing has a similar footprint to my 8.9" acer a1 (just a tad bigger) but weighs a little more than my Dell d420 12" (3.0 lbs.)? Is the battery on this thing that heavy?

5 mins or so. I also just received a call from them to confirm the shipping address then she said that it'll ship out tomorrow morning from Newark, CA.
I wonder whether that'll get to me in 2 days like Fedex Ground normally does from CA, or whether it'll take the full 5-7 days as listed on ZZF

I received my rebate check a few days ago. I found ZZF to be very reputable and the $40 was an added bonus which made my total cost only $259. I love the 1000HA.
