Some people automatically give a red for restaurants such as Morton's or Ruth's Chris because of the prices that are much higher than those found at Outback, Longhorn, and the like. Personally, for a special occasion, I enjoy Morton's and Ruth's Chris.

I would consider giving red only because the meal is not much of a value. They give you A LOT of food. Unfortunately, the steak they give you is rather small. Don't get me wrong, you're stuffed with all the stuff they give you but its just too bad that you're really there for their steak and the give you a small piece.

Their bread is awesome though. Steak is pretty good (I still like Ruth's Chris better).

But if you never had Morton's before, its a good meal to bring a date on or something.

Just my 2-cents.

Thanks, but me and the Mrs. would rather share 10 steaks at Applebees.

Not all locations are showing dessert included

Because they do not understand good food.

Every time the wife and I go on one of these specials they let me substitute a ribeye for the filet for the same price. Their Cajun dry rub ribeye is to die for!!! BTW, the ribeye is much bigger and way more filling than the filet.
Imho.

Could be raters who are vegeterians or members of PETA. And looking at your avatar maybe, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Aggie fans.

Some locations are $109.00, still a value for a very good meal.

DerProfi said: Not all locations are showing dessert included I actually got an e-mail from Morton's advertising this as some sort of V-day special.

The current deal also differs from the "original" $99 for 2 deal in that you now only get one salad rather than two. My location is no longer offering dessert. The current deal is not good enough for me to consider doing it again.

It is still an okay deal for Morton's; but adding an extra salad and just one dessert for the table is going to add $20 to the tab (no one says you have to add either, just making a point).

Very well put. I agree completely.

Thanks OP, I'm taking my wife and mom. Good deal for some great food.

Went to the same special on Mother's day last year.
It was disappointing because the steaks were so small.
They called it 6 ounce, but it looked more like 3-4 ounces.
I have been to steak houses of all kinds including
Chop House, Ruth's Chris, Capital Grill, AJ Maxwell's,
Lawry's, Smith and Wollensky, Shula's, Outback,
Joe's, Gibson's, and Roadhouse (before they closed shop).

These were the smallest steaks that I have ever seen
at any price range. For $50 per person, you are better off
ordering a normal priced steak from the Morton's menu.

I had the best meal of my life at Morton's in Southfield, MI.

If one can afford to spend >$50 for a meal why the heck do you need a coupon!

Oh, then there is also the tip.

I can't believe anyone would compare Outback to Morton's or Ruth Chris. You might as well say you can get 100 Big mac's for that price, Outback is horrible.

$109 at LA area restaurants.

In the fine print it says you can order per person at $49.99. Looks like you can save an extra penny on the entire meal, sweet!!!

can't believe they no longer include the dessert. blasphemy.
still a good deal - used to be hotter though with dessert, no?
don't get me wrong though: thank you SO much to OP for posting!

HAHA!!!

The deal isn't that bad, I'm a fan of quality food and the thought of a steak from applebees just makes my teeth hurt, even if they sell them for $6.99. Nonetheless, this young professional can't afford $100 + 2 sodas + Tax + Tip durring this economic pitfall.

Sorry for the multi posts. Was working on the mobi site from my iPhone and it kept telling me it wasn't going through.

Looks like it varies by location, Scottsdale gets:

Choice of Two:
Caesar or Morton's Salad

Two Single Cut Filets

Choice of Two:
Broiled Sea Scallops, Colossal Shrimp Alexander
or Jumbo Lump Crab Cake

One Signature Potato & One Fresh Vegetable to Share

Choice of Two:
Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake or Key Lime Pie

The reason there is red from some people is that they are cheap and can't appreciate good food, good service, and something nice. This is a good deal compared to the normal price. If you have nothing better to say then just keep your comments to yourself. You dont have to tell the whole world that your a cheapskate....!!

Thanks OP!
We went last night and enjoyed your deal and a $100 gift certificate we had. Of course our total bill was $180, but
we both felt the food was excellent quality and we would indeed go back, but we would order a bit differently. We would definitly pass on dessert...which btw IS still included in the King of Prussia, PA "deal". Way too much food, but a lovely evening! I'm glad I saw your post yesterday!

think its going on for the whole month of feb. times are tough.

Sorry, but this is not a "hot deal" at all. How is $99 for dinner for two any value whatsoever? I can buy a whole prime rib roast for that on sale at the grocery store and feed 10 people Prime Rib!! That's a value! Yes I have been to Morton's and the steak is good, but I can cook one that good at home. In this economy, I come to fatwallet looking to penny pinch. This is definitely the opposite of that.

Dinner for two.... $99.99
two glasses of wine ... $20
tax... $10
tip $20

Total for dinner for two... $149.99 WHAT A FREAKIN' STEAL!!!!!!

" You dont have to tell the whole world that your a cheapskate....!!"

That's the dumbest thing you could ever post on "FATWALLET.COM".... everybody on this site is a cheapskate, that's the whole point of the site. Just because this is money off the regular price doesn't make it a good deal. It was overpriced to begin with.

We had this tonight in Anaheim, CA. They include the dessert at this location. Great food, great service - and we were absolutely stuffed and still had leftovers. They were nice enough to let us substitute for another side instead of the seafood appetizer for my pregnant wife, since she's not supposed to eat that.

Then riddle me this: How is it NOT a hot deal if it's like 30% or $40% off? It may not be for everyone, but you can't deny there is savings off of normal price. Besides, for those coming up on a special occasion where they want to take that special someone somewhere nice, they just saved some money.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!! you aren't the only person on this earth.

I'll give you a brief lesson (cause yeah, you need one) Have you EVER EVER EVER been on vacation? EVER? For your sake, I hope you didn't answer yes. If so, you're a HYPOCRITE! You know why? Ask yourself.... why would you ever pay to go anywhere when you can always go somewhere for free? Instead of that trip to Paris, just walk to the library and look at a book on Paris. Or better yet, don't walk anywhere because that would burn calories that you would have to replace with expensive food. Instead, just close your eyes and dream away.

In case you can't figure it out, the reason we (meaning humans other than you) sometimes do things is for the "experience"- which can vary from person to person. In this case, it could the the quality or deliciousness of the food, the delightful service, the abundant menu, those knockout stoli dolis, or maybe to put that thought in your guests mind that you just spent a nice hunk of cash on them and it's finally time to take your relationship to the next level (and yes, i realize white castle did the trick for you and your SO.)

Do I think its a brilliant spent of money?! No! Heck my luscious new 22" HP debranded monitor w/HDMI will be the same price after taxes and tip.

But my wife wants to tear me up after a romantic night out and THAT my friend is what's it all about. Well that and its cheaper than usual with this deal.

Now for something useful - its been extended until June 30th.

I'm an Aggie, and I can't understand what would be wrong with his avatar.

Here is a pretty good deal on a coat. A deal is a deal right? Free shipping too!!!

Holding out for a deal at Peter Luger.

I won't comment on whether this is hot or not, and don't want to go crazy OT, but restaurants really are in deep trouble. Morton's, Ruth's Chris and Palm are all seeing incredible declines in biz as the one two punch of slashed biz expense accounts and a truly searing recession take their toll.

I have a 6 year old. Is it ok to take children? My wife insists that he's too young but I cant imagine it would be a big deal.

Anyone know if they have a childrens menu?

DamnoIT said: That $39 bottle of wine is about double what I spend on an average meal ticket(using coupons of course). Fillet was recently on sale at my local grocer for $10lb, consider I could get 8lbs of that a bag of spuds, corn, drinks, some apps ect... for about $100 and feed about 10 people a great meal I am not sure how this is a hot deal. Red here I come.

Don't red the OP because you fail to see the value in going out.

I'll approach a few ways:

1. So the Fandango buy one/get one movie ticket is not a deal because you could wait, rent the movie, and watch it with 10 friends on the cheap?

2. $19.50 is what you spend on an average, vaguely stated, "meal ticket" + your local grocery store filet @ $10/lb. VS. the above state meal at Morton's = apples and bowling balls.

3. "for about $100 and feed about 10 people a great meal" assumes you can cook 1/10th as well as Morton's chefs. ok, I'm kidding on #3, relax.
