Somewhere, 24 has a warning statement against doing that, saying to the effect that Costco is the only authorized dealer for this deal, and that if you buy a counterfit from someone else, that 24 hour won't help you.

They are currently $275 for 2 years, and it's BIN so you should be able to get 8% bing.com CB.

Says right there on the cert itself:

"Fraud Warning: Costco is the only authorized seller of this certificate. Any certificate resold or purchased from a third party, including purchased on an internet auction site is void and has no value."

Not saying it won't work, but there's a big risk there to potentially save like $20-30.

Good to know, but w/ Paypal's improved fraud measures I think I'm going to give it a shot.

While I work at a fitness facility that does not charge based on a membership for the most part and disagree with the business model of the traditional gym, I can't argue that this is a bad deal based on the price. For all those into gyms, I don't suppose this is a horrid deal.

Has anybody ever used the 7-day free trial at more than one location? I want to try another location (the other direction from my house) before I do the 2-yr commitment. Since the free trial is only good at one location - I wasn't sure if I'm entered into their main system or just the one where I signed up.

NEVER BELIEVE A SALESPERSON. A new 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport is opening up nearby. An older Active club is closing in November. I have 12 months left on the $299 Costco 2yr membership. I received a letter dated March 20th (Good until July 18th) from the new club offering me a special members-only price of $4.99 per month to upgrade to Super Sport. When I went to the new club and the manager said that I could not upgrade a Costco membership. I thanked her (It's very important not to burn your bridges.) and went to another club and was told by their manager that I could upgrade for $14.99 extra per month.

So I found out that it was possible.

Visited the older Active club and explained the letter and was told that I could upgrade for the printed $4.99 per month but it had to be at the new club. I asked for a sales persons name and drove 2 miles to the new club. There I asked for the sales person and walked out paying $59.88 for the next 12 months and on 7/13/10 I pay $59.88 for the "prepaid initial Annual Renewal" which equals $4.99 per month for the next 12 months. I have been looking for a similar deal for my wife. (Nothing remotely as good yet.) Happy hunting all. Please remember to be polite until you realize that there is no way that you can get what you want.

This may be a YMMV, we were able to do it with the 24 day free membership, but then when I gave away another 24 day membership, they were advising that it was not possible.

In addition to the website, the certificates are also available for purchase in the store, however, there may be a limited supply. I got the last two certificates at the Pompano Beach, Florida store.

I joined 24 Hour Fitness a little over a month ago and got a $24/mo "Friends and Family" plan. This week my wife wanted to join with me and I saw the Costco deal. Yesterday I called up the gym to inquire whether that location was one that took the Costco certificates (it was) because I wanted to make sure before I bought one for my wife. Fortunately the club manager was at the front desk when I called and he answered the phone because when I said "So, since I am already a member, I can't take advantage of this deal, huh?" To my surprise, he said that he would let me use the certificate because I had only joined recently.

So, as soon as he told me that both of us could use them, I called my nearest Costco to see if they had any in the store because I didn't want to wait for them to be shipped. They had 4 left. By the time I got to Costco a few hours later, I bought the last two certificates and brought them in to the gym and met with the club manager who I had talked to earlier. No problem or hassle at all. He signed my wife up and changed my membership to reflect the pre-payment. Because I had already paid for the last month when I signed up for the monthly payment plan, he said my account would be credited for that last payment.

Overall I have had a great experience with 24 Hour Fitness and their staff, management and trainers... which is very refreshing because my wife and I had a horrible experience with Bally's years ago and I know many people who also had a terrible experience with Ballys.

This is incorrect!

The Costco warehouse locations are currently offering an 18 month membership for $249.99. The Costco website still has the $299/24 months available. The per month cost on the warehouse offer is slightly higher.

Hi,
This is my first post on this forum. So hi to all. I am wondering how can I use this coupon to lower my existing charges. I am currently paying 24/month for 24 fitness. However, the coupon explicitly says that it can not be used by current members.
