Does it have alarm features? I've been looking to get a new alarm clock, but wanted something with decent sound.....

Can anyone take a camera-phone picture of it? Would be neat to see what it is before I make the trek to Costco to check it out or if they even have it.
I picked a unit up today at Costco. There is a $20 instant coupon that makes it $99 out the door. Has a feature called iTunes tagging that allows you to push a button when you hear a song you like and the next time you dock your iPod to iTunes it pulls the identifies the song for potential purchase. It is a clock radio with snooze feature. Dual bass opennings in the rear. Phone and line out, aux in, Video out, iPod dock, and remote.

How's the sound quality?

What kind of antenna is included for the HD radio? It seems like this is a glorified iPod speaker device.
The sound is quite excellent IMHO for a $99 clock radio. The LCD provides station call sign and song title and the tuner is precise as it is digital vs analog. The Eq presets allow for ROCK, POP, CLASSIC, JAZZ, BASS, and NORMAL. Per the OP's statement, can't quite fine tune here but "but the presets are suitable choices". The unit is quite heavy for it's size (really not as much plastic as you would expect). The volume and tuning selectors have some tactile feel to them. The remote appears to be made out of thick black anodized aluminum. Overall, I am suprizingly quite please and will definitely keep the unit.

It has extenal connections for AM loop and FM antennas. You could still call it a glorified iPod device or a glorified clock radio if you want. For the price I think it performs very well either way at this price point.
It says plays and charges any docking iPod (including Nano). It comes with various adapters in the box. I don't that specific unit so I can't test for you.
I did notice last night that when the radio is "ON" the display doesn't show the time. I could not find a switch to toggle back the time either. A very bad design if you are buying this as a clock radio. Since I have not replaced my existing clock radio yet I hadn't noticed this flaw.

-TriIt actually looks very nice and well made. I'll probably grab one on my next visit to Costco since promo is good till end of March (if still in stock).

Is it gonna be nation wide ?? since I am looking for one very badly...
I picked one up last week. JohnL33 did a great job describing the features. Reception is very good, though the sound quality doesn't compare well to my Cambridge Soundworks 820HD. This isn't surprising, nor a deal breaker, since the CS radio was designed to sell for a lot more. So much so that it has been discountinued. However, the TEAC docks and charges the iPhone and supports tagging, a key requirement for the wife. The TEAC is a fine unit and for this price, is now the bedroom radio. Thx for the heads up, OP.
I got one a couple of days back because the iHome product emitted lound "drum roll" static whenever my iPhone rang or synched with AT&T Wireless. THe Teac is a better experience except for the clock functions:
1. The time is not displayed when the radio is playing. 2. The date logic has a problem -- right now the display says it is "30:12 PM" with yesterday's date.
In the software world, we'd call 1 a 'feature' and 2 a 'bug' [they'd both be 'features' if I still worked at Atari].
I like the rear shot because it shows this has a Video out (I am assuming for iPod Video, Classic and Touch models) as well as a line in. With a iPod Video (called the Classic now?) and a cheap TV, you can setup a little video station for your kids where they have a predefined playlist to choose from, virtually no moving parts (no DVDs to lose or scratch) and a small, simple remote.

The dock is AAPL only. There is however a line in jack on the back, so you could connect another device, but then the display and the remote don't do you any good. To me this is like buying a car so you can listen to the Radio. Would be a better fit to get a device that doesn't have all the extra stuff you don't need.
How good is the sound of this Teac unit compared to the Bose Wave Radio System? Anyone have anything on the specs?
Is it a two speaker stereo unit? Picture looks like it could be.
Thanks.

I bought this a week ago figuring that I could easily return to Costco. Well, I will NOT be returning it. The sound is really good for a unit this size and you can hear the stereo L vs R pretty well. The HD radio stations sound crystal clear with no distortion at all. It charges my first gen iPhone and the tagging of songs off HD radio onto my iPhone is pretty cool. I can then purchase those songs later if I wish. There are 2 alarms that play iPhone, aux, AM, FM, or buzzer.
There are a couple annoying things, but not enough to make me return it.
The LCD screen light has 4 levels - off, low, med, hi. I have to turn it off to sleep, otherwise it's fairly bright even on low. Some folks may find that it makes a good nightlight. So if I want to see the time in the middle of the night I reach over and hit the dimmer switch to low, then 3 more times to off before I go back to bed.
The LCD screen is only readable from directly in front. It's on my nightstand facing straight out (best sound into the room), so to read the time while in bed, I have to bend my face in front of it.
The alarms 1 and 2 cannot be turned off while it is being snoozed. I have to turn on the radio or iPhone quickly then back off to undo the snooze. Now I can press alarm 1 or alarm 2 to turn the alarm off.
Even with those annoyances, it's still a great iPhone alarm clock, epecially for the $99 Costco price.

I just bought one of these last night and am loving it. But I'm having problems with the AM radio antenna. It looks like it's expecting a plug attachment, but the antenna in the box ends with two exposed wires. Am I missing something in the box, or am I not understanding something? Any help would be appreciated!
Does it have a weekend/weekday alarm setting? That is the main reason I still love my iHome, and most vendors seem to ignore the fact that not everyone needs to be awake at 6:45 7 days a week...

Did you read instruction manual?
That's common. On back of box it's a little push button, press it and a little hole opens up. Insert the bare wire and release press button. That "locks" wire into hole.
Sometimes the wires can be stretched in a "Y". Tape it behind furniture nearby if you want to hide it.
In areas with strong AM signals, you may not even need an antenna.
You'll find many HD channels you didn't know existed HERE

Almost any HD radio will sound better than a non-HD radio. Although a few have been made with cheap, thin, small speakers. A bad speaker won't give the full clean sound.

There is AM radio antenna included in the box. It looks like a Black Loop. There is a white plastic connector on the end of the connection wire that mates nicely to the port on the back of the radio. The BNC cable connector (the round threaded connector on the far rear right side of the radio) is for FM. There is a BNC connector attached to the two wire FM antenna for easy installation.

Mine doesn't have the white plastic connector on the end of the connection wire, so there's no way for me to plug it in. I guess I'll have to take it back and hope the next one has it. I looked in the box to see if it fell off somehow, but couldn't find it.
Thanks for the info!
And thank you, briankh, but the back isn't set up like that.

yes -- take it back and get another. the radio is set up for that specific antenna connector.
Don't let it fall on the floor.... mine did and it's totally dead. Noting rattles in it and I might take it apart looking for something obvious like a fuse; not much more I'd know to look for.
Guess I'm stuck with it as in good conscience I can't return it for another since it's totally my clumsy fault. Was fun while it lasted!
While still a good deal, I have to disagree about the sound. It's nowhere near as full as my one-speaker Tivoli iPal radio. The HD is great, but I really wish the speakers were better. I will probably return it. Anybody know of a good HD table radio that sounds as good as a Tivoli?
